Bike less than a mile from secure parking at our Volcano Shop to the park’s trailhead and follow the crater rim, moving from viewpoint to viewpoint. Itinerary
- Take a self-guided GPS audio E-Bike tour through Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Pick up your e-bike at 9:30 AM for the morning or 12:30 PM for the afternoon tour (afternoon requires 4 riders minimum). Ride less than a mile to the park’s bike trail entrance, then bike along the rim of the erupting crater on scenic, less-traveled trails closed to most guided tours. Enjoy total freedom to explore at your own pace—pause, linger, or take detours anytime to create your perfect adventure. Glide through a native Hawaiian fern rainforest, feel volcanic heat at steam vents, and savor lunch overlooking the crater at Volcano House. Walk through an ancient lava tube and bike paved trails to the lava viewing area, where you may see active lava fountains over 1,000 feet tall. Our GPS audio guide shares expert insights, fascinating stories, and detailed geological history.
