"Best host ever with an Amazing home. Josh was great to work with and went above and beyond to create an amazing experience for my mother and myself on her first trip to islands to celebrate her birthday. From leaving candles for birthday suprise! To just being there for all aspects of the stay ! Would definitely recommend his property to any one wanting a more secluded private experience away from the crowds!"

When we chose to visit the Big Island, we knew we wanted to go to the National Park and visit the Black Sand Beach. I spent days stressing over where we would stay and am so glad I booked this home!
As others noted, the host, Josh, was absolutely terrific to work with. This was my first vacation rental experience and I was a little bervous. However, I couldn't have picked a better host or home! Josh was personable, incredibly responsive & provided great information about the area.
The home was very clean and the grounds were beautiful. It is obvious that they take great pride and care in tending to the plants, and we certainly appreciated that. The flowers smell lovely and their scent greeted us every time we stepped outside.
We traveled with our teen girls (16 & 17) and one thing I didn't expect (but loved!) was how much they enjoyed picking and eating fruit on the property! They really got into identifying the flowers, trees & fruit. After they exhausted the ripe fruit on-site, they started visiting the surrounding fruit stands - an experience they will definately never get at home! They tried all kinds of interesting fruits and I loved seeing them have so much simple fun.

Josh (lovely host) was helpful and proactive in communicating all details. The beautiful property embodied Aloha with generous thoughtfulness in providing all kinds of little details that might be needed by a traveler to the sparsely populated south shore of Big Island. Although we did not need the extra toothbrushes, extra pasta/sauce, spare sunblock, etc., I did recognize the thoughtfulness behind providing those options and how welcome they would have been if we were in need. We did utilize some of the provided ziplock bags, stick of butter, chocolatey coffee beans -- welcome extra amenities, not taken for granted!!! House was clean. Beds were comfy w/ cozy blankets provided for the more cool than anticipated temperatures. Living room was spacious and deck peaceful for family chats. Neighborhood is sparse, isolated w/ rugged terrain. We enjoyed jumping south point cliffs (find your ascent path before jumping down - the ladder is not useable) and exploring Whittington beach park. Punaluu bakery was a nice stop full of aloha and fun, but Punaluu beach (while beautiful) is overrun with tourists, green sand beach was beautiful and a nice walk IF not too windy, otherwise sandblasting dust storms on the wind are blinding for the 2 mile walk (each way) even with sunglasses. One thing I would caution, get an SUV or Van rental car, our midsize car with decent ground clearance scraped badly each time coming out of the driveway - no problem with an SUV, but nerve wracking in car.
