Kapaa Sands 17 is a comfortable, cozy, island-boho style studio apartment in the heart of the Royal Coconut Coast on the East side of the island. Your boutique retreat has a comfortable queen bed, smart TV, and a fully stocked kitchen. There is also an intimate dining area for 2, and a full bathroom with walk-in shower. From your private ocean view lanai you'll be able to enjoy the sights and sounds of the surf!
You'll find yourself perfectly situated to see all the island hotspots while staying at Kapaa Sands. If you want to explore on foot, this is the place for you, as you're only a mile from top-notch beaches like Lydgate Beach Park, and Wailua Beach, as well as outdoor attractions like the Sleeping Giant trailhead, and kayaking or canoeing along the Wailua River. If you're looking to immerse yourself in some traditional Hawaiian culture, you're also in walking distance of Smith's Garden Luau, rated the best luau on the island. For an even shorter trek, there's an abundance of shops and restaurants just 5 minutes from your front door along Papaloa Rd, and in the Kinipopo shopping village and Coconut Marketplace. Be sure to check out the Coconut Marketplace calendar of events for hula and fire dancing shows, live local music, lei making or hula classes, all just a 5 minute walk away. While you're right there, we recommend trying out Lava Lava Beach Club for some true toes-in-the-sand dining!
If you prefer a beachside staycation where you do less and relax more, walk the few steps down to Kapaa Sands' beach, or enjoy the complex's saltwater pool and large cabana area with sun loungers, picnic tables, and a grilling area. While the unit does not have a washer and dryer, you'll find coin operated laundry on the premises, so bring a few quarters with you!
If you don't mind a drive, Wailua Falls and Opaeka'a Falls are incredible sites in the mountainous interior, while Old Kapa'a Town, just 2 miles away, is a charming spot for souvenirs and sightseeing. Check out the farmers market every Wednesday afternoon for the largest selection of locally grown produce on the island, and the Old Kapa'a Art Walk the first Saturday evening of every month for artisanal jewelry, clothing, art, and more! If you want to explore the entire island, you'll definitely need a rental car, as drive time to the North Shore (Hanalei, Princeville, Kilauea) is about 50 min, and to Poipu on the South Shore is roughly 35 min.
As with most homes on Kauai, this vacation rental is NOT air conditioned, however there is a ceiling fan, tower fan, and screen door on the lanai to help with airflow.
This is an upstairs condo so you need to be able to go up and down one flight of stairs. There are no elevators.
Although this home has internet, the speed and reliability cannot be guaranteed due to the remote location and the service being provided by a third-party.

My wife and I had a great time here. Only a short weekend trip but it was perfect. Great location. Balcony was nice! Hosts communicated well. Everything we could’ve hoped for!

We had a fantastic stay at this cute apartment. The units are staggered so everyone gets a glimpse of the ocean, and the sound of the waves, and rain and wind in the palms was so nice to sleep to. No A/C but the cross winds kept the apartment cool and very comfortable. Great pool and amenities. We loved the location close to some fabulous restaurants and walking distance to Napali Coast brewing. Have to climb stairs with luggage to get into the property FYI, but parking is close and very convenient. We wished we spent more time both at this place and in Kapa’a in general, and would definitely come back! There’s a kayak rental place nearby, and the Kapa’a bike path and bike rentals are a short drive away - don’t miss it!

Had everything we needed as our home base as we adventured about the island! Loved the driftwood on the beach for photo ops!
