The Kona Reef is conveniently situated right next to Honl's Beach, which was where the first Boogie Board was tried out by Tom Morey, the inventer, in 1971, and within walking distance to town where guest will find dining, shopping and site seeing! We enjoyed being within walking distance of many restaurants and shops in downtown Kailua-Kona. And the view from our balcony was a perfect way to start the day with coffee and enjoy the sunset in the evenings.

We loved the location and the view. Spectacular view over looking the ocean. For the price that we paid ($4K for only 1 week!) we were surprised by the poor quality of the interior. The carpet was a mess, appliances rusty, dozens of small holes in the kitchen floor tile, sink completely plugged up in the master bathroom, the patio lock didn't work right and locked us out of the condo, and, there was no way back inside. The place really needs to be renovated and upgraded. Also, I specifically booked this condo because it was listed as having two twin beds in the guest room but only had a queen. I needed two beds in that room. Overall, it was a great location, but not worth the price. I would not stay in this specific condo again, but we love Kona Reef.

I've stayed at this unit twice before with girlfiends and absolutely love it! This time I brought my husband, and he enjoyed it as well. So much so, we'll be back next month! It is so comfortable and the views from the lanai are spectacular!
