My wife and I really enjoyed our stay! The views and the sounds of the ocean were relaxing and the location was highly desirable. The sunsets every evening were beautiful.
Communication with the host was excellent! Alex was always willing to help and offer suggestions and advice.
The condo was beautiful and had everything we needed.
We enjoyed celebrating part of our 25th anniversary trip here.
We hope to come back soon and will plan to stay here again when we do.

"Wow" is all we could say when we walked in this condo. This condo has everything you can think of, a well stocked kitchen for cooking, beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach towels, a cooler, and snorkel gear. The bed and pillows are very comfortable, with high quality sheets and an extra blanket if needed. The view is just amazing, the lanai has high quality, very comfortable patio furniture with views of the beautiful sunsets as well as great entertainment watching the surfers and boogie boarders ride the waves. The owner was very good at communicating, providing great restaurant recommendations, answering questions about the condo, and the island itself. The owners have an exceptional place here, it is very clean, had everything we needed and more. They take pride in this home and it shows, we could not have picked a better place!! A huge Mahalo for your hospitality!

My daughter and I had the pleasure of staying at this well appointed condo for two weeks. You will never find a cleaner, more comfortable, convenient to everything rental on the Big Island. Alex and Michele, the hosts, have thought of everything to make your stay memorable. They provide valuable information about dining, tours, driving directions, food trucks, etc. I could go on and on. And, they are always available if you have questions. The views from the lanai are incredible! We woke up to cruise ships right in front of us a few mornings and surfers riding huge waves other mornings. It was always a delight. Walking to town took five minutes if we wanted to shop or have lunch or dinner. I can's say enough about this condo. If I could, I would give it ten stars!!!!

We have rented vacation rentals at the Kona Reef many times before, but this was the best experience we have encountered. The owner of the condo. Alex Douglas was very helpful in making our stay a pleasurable experience. Whenever we had a question we were able to contact him imediately for an answer. First of all words cannot describe the sound of the waves and the scent of the sea and the beauty of Kona. This condo is a haven with all of that and more including whale watching from the Lanai ( balcony) and glorious sunsets. Wait before you get outdoor supplies as there are matts, beach chairs, beach umbrellas and scuba gear. Everything in the condo was clean and in working order. The communication with Alex was as easy as communication with a good friend, always available with caring and excellent suggestions. Best vacation ever. Thank you Alex & Michele! Maxine & Bruce

We loved our stay here at Alex and Michele’s condo. It’s located overlooking the shore and provides perfect views of sunsets. It’s quiet, yet conveniently located near all the action in downtown Kona. The kitchen is well equipped, especially for BarBQing on the grills near the pool. We like to eat in most of the time, so we appreciated having all the tools to cook in the condo kitchen.
We also appreciated having more than one luggage rack to unpack our suitcases. Their condo has three! Anything that you need for a trip to the beach is also provided.
Most of all, we appreciated having Alex check in with us to make sure everything was ok and to give helpful suggestions about things to do. Can’t wait to get back to this great place again in the future!

Alex and Michelle, your condo at Kona Reef was wonderful. Absolutely everything we needed was there right down to the snorkel equipment. The complex is being kept up very nicely, they clean the barbecues daily! For my wife and I your place is a 10 plus and filled with aloha spirit. The walkability factor into the village and many restaurants was terrific. We saw so many whales, turtles and dolphins and real close up from the lanai, simply delightful. We have many great memories of this trip and will be returning soon no doubt.

We have been coming to Kona for vacations since 2006 and have been able to check out several different condo facilities in the area. This year is our first at Kona Reef. We came upon this location on the VRBO site and based on the location, description, pictures, reviews and cost, we decided to rent a condo here for one week. Throughout the process, the Alex, the owner, communicated with us proactively, in a timely and clear manner, resulting in a smooth, stress free transaction right from the reservation through to accessing the condo and finally checking out.
The condo is a gem. We knew it was something special the moment we walked in. It is immaculate, modern, quiet, well maintained, well furnished and comprehensively equipped for everything from gourmet cooking to snorkeling. We were very impressed with the cleanliness and organization of the condo. Pictures ccannot convey the idyllic nature of this location. Its location is perfect for a short stroll to shop and sightsee in Kona, although it was difficult to tear ourselves away from the good sized lanai where we enjoyed watching the activities out on the blue Pacific. This is, by far, the best value we have experienced in Kona without question. The view, proximity to the ocean and privacy allowed us to fully embrace the Hawaiian experience. We will never forget our lovely time there and we will definitely rent this condo again. Thanks to Alex and Michele for making this such a positive, memorable experience.

This is the nicest condo we have stayed in on the Big Island. Not only is it right on the water, it is so close to town. You can walk to town all the the time, it's that close. Very clean and furnished very confortablely. You will spend most of your time on the lanai watching all the activies in the bay.
Alex was very helpful in his suggestions and answering our questions.
We will recommend this condo to every one of our friends.
Stay here and you will have a very pleasent time in Kona.

Well Alex and Michelle, your condo was everything your site says, plus more!!! Thank you for calling us to see how everything was and for all your helpful information. There wasn't one thing that we needed that you didn't have available (even a clip for the chip bag)! So much was in walking distance, but yet you still had lots of privacy. Sitting out on the lanai, drinking coffee, watching the people surfing, the boats, reading or just listening to the sound of the waves! WHAT AN AWESOME SOUND! Some nights we sat out there till 2 pm, but that wasn't with coffee, mai tais are also good on the lanai. To go to sleep with those sounds was amazing, We totally miss them. Your place was so spotless, modern and well-equipped, that we wanted for nothing and felt totally at home. We were hoping we had room in our suitcase to take the bed home, it was so comfortable. AND THE SHOWER!!! I want one just like it. Loved the beach next door, it was so nice to sit, relax and not have a million people around. Thanks for the Hulie Sue tip, it was our favorite place. It was so nice to know they barter with the local people of Hawaii. The parking was also so convenient. The birds coming around were so cute to watch, but we were so tempted to feed them. We saw your state bird in the parking lot. We are saving our dollars to return again, hopefully sooner than later and we will definitely give you a call to see if your unit is available. I'm sure we'll work our vacation around to when it is. If you need any recommendations, count on us. Again thank you. Also, thank you for letting us stay until our flight left as a 25th Anniversary gift. That make things so much easier. You are so comfortable to work with and you make great condo owners. Mahalo!!!!
