* Perfect and most comfortable for a couple celebrating their honeymoon or anniversary, however it does have a small second bedroom with a queen bed to accommodate an additional 2 guests if you don't mind sharing the living space.

IDEAL GUESTS: returning Maui visitors that want to experience something different than the resort sides of Maui. Or first time guests that want to experience Maui like a local resident away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas. We recommend first time guests split their time between 2 sides of the island to have the full island experience. Many guests stay with us to explore the North shore, Hana and Haleakala as we are in the ideal location to these beautiful wonders of maui.

GETTING TO KNOW THE NORTH SHORE OF MAUI:
We like to let guests know that we are located on the non-touristy side of the island. All sides of maui are quite different and each season is different on each side of the island as well. Our north shore is great for adventurous guests looking for a quiet getaway in a local residence, while exploring the surrounding towns and north shore of maui. Our surrounding small towns are great for shopping and getting lunch or early dinner as shops close by 5pm and restaurants by 8:30-9pm. Unfortunately we don't have much night life to offer on our side of the island since mostly locals reside here. This place is adorable and perfectly located! This was my cousin and my first time in Maui so we rolled the dice in terms of location and it worked out!! Coffee shop and market right down the street, so close to the beach/lookouts, easy drive to the airport, etc. The place itself is so sweetly decorated and we had everything there for cooking which we ended up doing a couple of nights. The process was so easy with our wonderful hosts! I highly recommend this place!

The Haiku Surf Cottage is exactly what we hoped it would be when we booked. The cottage is cute and comfortable, with everything you need for your stay. We really appreciated the beach chairs! The location is an easy drive to anywhere you’d like to visit, but quiet and just off the beaten path enough to make you feel like a local. We loved the outdoor shower and walking to the Baked on Maui. The owners communicated the perfected amount, making sure we we comfortable without being intrusive. If you are looking for something a little different from a condo or resort, this is the spot.

Amy and Joel really thought of everything one might need for a great getaway! The cottage was clean, beautifully decorated and was in a peaceful surrounding. The only sound was the rain from tropical storm Calvin and the occasional rooster crowing in the distance. Great location walking distance to a quaint little grocery store and also a breakfast and lunch spot with all kinds of tasty food. Would recommend to anyone who would prefer to be off the beaten path and away from tourists traps!
