Tastefully remodeled bungalow style 1-bedroom condo at the Kiahuna Plantation, a 35-acre beachfront condo resort in the sunny South Shores area that evokes memories of Kauai’s early sugar plantation lifestyle.
Enjoy a short walk through the lush tropical grounds to one of the island's best beaches, or stroll across the road to quaint restaurants, shops, or Starbucks. The condo features a large master bedroom with King size bed, and a Queen size sofa sleeper in the living room.
In Hawaiian “Kiahuna” means “Special Place”. The Kiahuna Plantation is indeed a special place that evokes memories of Old Hawaii during the early plantation days. The ONLY beachfront condominium resort in Poipu, its 35-acre ground features expansive landscaped lawns with mature palm, banyan and plumeria trees, lush tropical gardens with fragrant flowers, lily and koi ponds, orchid gardens, a picturesque lagoon, and low-density bungalow-style vacation condos.
A short walk through the beautiful grounds or the historic Moir Gardens directly below our condo, and you'll be right at the beach! The warm, turquoise water and crescent-shaped beach is protected by a reef. The white sand of our beach is great for lounging, and the blue crystal water is ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and surfing. The South Shores area includes several other great beaches within a few minutes drive.
OUR KIAHUNA CONDO AMENITIES (Unit #326 / Bldg 39)
Our condo has been tastefully remodeled. Upgrades include new kitchen cabinets, stainless appliances, granite counters, two flat screens TVs, modern furniture, and great lanai furniture. We also upgraded the bathroom to include a new vanity with granite top, and replaced the original tub with an attractive walk-in shower with slate tile and glass doors.
While more than 50% of the condos at the Kiahuna Plantation are breeze cooled, ours is one of the select few that has A/C! The furnished 240 square foot lanai looks directly over the famous Moir Gardens. There's also a convenient double BBQ island right next to our building, so cook your dinner and walk down to the beach or enjoy dinner on the lanai. Our condo offers great privacy, free Wi-Fi, free parking, in-room safe, no resort fees, and is smoke-free.
KIAHUNA PLANTATION AMENITIES
The Kiahuna Plantation resort features free parking, a convenient Laundromat, and beach-side activity center where you can get complimentary chairs, or rent snorkeling gear, boogie board and surfboards. However, the resort's greatest asset is its stunningly gorgeous grounds. Approaching the beach you'll encounter the "Great Lawn", which is an expansive grassy area with mature coconut trees swaying in the breeze. Take off your shoes and you'll think you're on carpeting!
OUR CONDO’S LOCATION IN THE COMPLEX
Our condo is located in Bldg. 39 on the second floor (9 easy steps), and overlooks the historic Moir Gardens from the lanai. With the beautiful gardens behind our building rather than buildings, the condo offers complete privacy. It is considered a 'Garden View Deluxe' unit, as it does not have a direct view of the ocean, but is closer to the beach than the 'Garden View' units. (It does have a small view of the ocean.) Take one of the myriad of paths leading through the grounds, ...

We come to Kauai as a family 1-2x a year and have stayed at the Kiahuna a fair amount of times. Rick & Marilyn’s condo is by far one of the best we’ve stayed in! It was clean, well maintained and convenient. The A/C was amazing on hot nights! If you’re a Kauai regular, you know how spectacular the beach is and it’s well worth it to stay on the property to not deal with parking lol! We booked this trip super last minute since we weren’t sure our schedule would allow it and the owners were so gracious and amazing. They didn’t use it as an excuse to nickel and dime us (which has happened to us in the past) and it really speaks a lot about them. Not only as property owners but as human beings. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you Rick & Marilyn!!

The condo was very nice and the AC was helpful. The only thing to note was the condo does not have any kitchen cooking supplies.

Everything was too-notch. Rick contacted us before and during our stay to make sure everything was alright. The unit is well appointed and close to everything. The Little Fish Cafe was a great place to walk to and start the day.
One of the best VRBOs we ever stayed at.

We have been to Kauai a number of times and generally stay at the Kiahuna Plantation Resort. We like to stay on the south side of the island, particularly in February because weather (in our opinion) is better than it is on the north side. We like to spend time at the beach and the beach at the Kiahuna is excellent.
The unit worked perfectly for us and was as advertised. Anytime we had a question Rick contacted us immediately with an answer. The staff at the resort are friendly, polite, and very helpful. Our flight was delayed and with one call to the resort we had instructions on how to get into the unit after hours and were able to get in with no problems.
As a side note, if you have a late flight when leaving I would recommend checking into the Departure Pass offered by the Poipu Athletic Club across the street. They will store your luggage, and you get access to the showers and a secure locker for the day so you can enjoy the beach, pool, or other activities and get cleaned up before you leave. $50.00 for two people is well worth it.
We would highly recommend Rick, this unit, and the resort.

There aren’t enough words to describe the surrounding beauty with abundant gardens, large grassy lawn, bird watching, walking distance to beaches and restaurants, oceanfront scenes and sunset views. The condo was perfect w/ best location, easy to access, safe, clean and comfortable.
We have so many great memories to treasure , thank you Rick and Marilyn for letting us stay in your home.

The property itself is gorgeous and meticulously well-kept. Short walks to shopping, the beach, and the pool. I would stay at the plantation again, but likely not this unit. While it is pretty, there was a constant squeal on the toilet. When you walk in, it unfortunately feels like a cheap hotel. The living room and kitchen, however, were great. We had breakfast and coffee on the lanai every morning and there IS TECHNICALLY an ocean view. It was really nice. We have been afforded in staying in owner owned properties in the past and thought this would be the same, but it is not. The unit was missing things like aluminum foil or sandwich bags, but unsure if that is covid related or the management company. I feel like the management company takes the “home away from home” feel to these units. There are no soft sheets and towels, just scratchy, over-laundered, cheap hotel linens and towels. The bed isn’t overly comfortable, but it’s not terrible.
Was it affordable and did it do the job? Yes, absolutely so. We are not unsatisfied with the stay. But compared to other places we have stayed and the destination, we just thought there would be a bit more personalization, but again, is likely the management company and leftover covid restrictions.

We had the best honeymoon at Kiahuna. We feel at home staying there and your place was amazing. It had everything we had and we live being able to use bbqs and cook dinners there. We love the condo and hope to stay again.
