- South Shore 35 -This spacious home features a large sunken living room and stunning ocean views. South Shore 35 has four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, and a large beach front lanai with plenty of spots for dining and relaxing. The ocean side of the home has multiple sliding doors that can be opened completely to the outdoors and trade winds. Other amenities include central air conditioning, beach front jacuzzi, ultra high speed wi-fi (up to 400 Mbps), televisions in every bedroom, plenty of on site parking, and a bbq grill. This is a private house; no other home, tenant or caretaker is on this property. The house sleeps a maximum of 15 guests, please see below for a detailed description of the bedrooms.
- The Beach - The beachfront side of the home has a grass yard that spills down to a private beach, accessible only by the few upscale homes located nearby. The water is calm and shallow, making it perfect for those with little ones in tow. Stand up boarding and kayaking are excellent here, and you may find yourself paddling along side schools of fish, manta rays, sea turtles and even dolphins. To swim simply put on reef shoes and walk past the coral until you reach deep water. Fishing is great from the shallow coral area. In summer season you can surf in front of the house at the break known as "Secrets".
- The Neighborhood - Hawaii Kai is an upscale residential neighborhood in eastern Honolulu. It is very safe and family friendly. Nearby you will find plenty of grocery stores, including Whole Foods and Costco, drug stores, casual dining, upscale restaurants and local boutiques. Haunama Bay is a few minutes down the street for snorkeling, other nearby activities include hiking, parasailing, jet skiing, hang gliding, and golfing. The home is located close to major highway access so is a convenient starting point for day trips. Waikiki is 7 miles away, the airport is 13 miles, and Pearl Harbor 16.

Other: There is a king size daybed in the sunroom area. Pack n plays, cribs and kids beds can be rented and delivered. The fourth bathroom is a full bathroom with bath tub and shower.

We could not have picked a better place to stay! The secluded back yard with the ocean right out back was our favorite part! Couldn't recommend this place enough!!

It’s an old house with room additions that slope down to the ocean. It also had mold from the humidity that affected my sensitive family members. I gave a long fix-it list to the property manager upon check out to make the house more enjoyable for the next guests.
The kitchen has 2 refrigerators which is awesome, just hope the owners replace the cookware soon. I had to buy a new pan to cook on bc the pans were worn out and food stuck to them. I also had to wash utensils before using them bc the previous guest wasn’t as clean as I prefer.
The backyard is beautiful and you do have direct access to the beach with a very long shallow area before the breakwater. Bring water shoes because the sand is very coarse and rocky with a lot of coral and some glass shards. The beach depth is dependent on the tide.
The house is close to shopping and Waikiki but sits off a very busy road so bring earplugs if the sound of cars don’t lull you to sleep. It’s a roof over your head and fits a lot of people so you can all be together. It just needs regular maintenance and cleaning to keep up with its age.

We had a little trouble with hot tub cleanliness. Resolved by 3rd day. Manager of property was helpful. House also had a little problem with ants in kitchen area and some mold on shower curtains and tub. All in all house was as represented.

Bad location. Lousy beach. On VERY busy street. No where to walk or run. Needs new mattress in bedrooms.

Besides being located right off of a major highway, the location was great.
Check-in was pretty seamless and layout was very nice.
However, there were multiple remotes missing batteries, that we did not receive replacement for until past the midpoint of our reservation. Additionally, the floors were very dirty and if we walked around barefoot, our feet would get equally as dirty. Lastly, one of the guest sinks was clogged when we showed up and was not fixed until 2 days before our departure. Overall communication was pretty bad, but the backyard and beachfront access was good.

Loved our stay. Wonderful to be right on the beach. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Quiet. Shallow water. House is close to beaches, restaurants, places to hike, Pearl Harbor and Waikiki Beach.
Great outdoor deck, hot tube and places to hang out. Management was great! Quick to respond. Mahalo!

The house was just as we expected, lots of room for all 13 of us, on the beach for the kids right up to the adults. We were close to shopping and drives to other places. Enjoyed sipping coffee on the beach watching the sunrise.

We enjoyed our stay. The home was generally clean & very nice; the view is great. Exiting the driveway is fine.The beach is small but private; we borrowed a rake to clear the coral, nuts, seaweed etc that wash up every morning so the little one could play in the sand.It wasn't possible to swim because the water is only knee-thigh deep for hundreds of feet out from the shore. There were issues, although Anna in management was efficient in dealing with most of them.-we were surprised to learn after arriving that no food staples or normal amenities were provided other than salt & pepper in the kitchen, and toilet paper and hand soap in the bathrooms. At our request the company provided napkins, plastic wrap, baggies, and tissues. but we had to shop for shampoo, body wash, and food basics like ketchup, oil and vinegar, etc. - the gas BBQ grill was broken (& filthy) and while the handyman repaired and wiped it, it was still so dirty underneath the grill that it caused a grease fire the first time we used it. We gave it a thorough cleaning ourselves. We realized there was no fire extinguisher at the house. One was provided the next day.- The water in the hot tub was not clean but at our request the handyman emptied & refilled it with clean water.- 3 gardeners and handyman appeared on Saturday (although the yard was already very neat) with no advance notice and were able to access the locked gate & enter the backyard without asking us for permission. - We had a very regrettable burglary later that day - someone snuck into the Master Bedroom from the backyard (beach-side) through an unlocked patio door while we were cooking/eating in another part of the house. They stole a purse, subsequently using the credit cards. Police are investigating. The management was sympathetic when they learned of the crime, but offered no particular assistance. We traveled to Hawaii to celebrate our 50th Anniversary - this house was a wonderful gathering place for my 2 sons and their families!! It was everything as advertised!! Great layout, spacious rooms and easy access to the yard and beach! The hot tub was a plus! It was super neat & clean with lots of areas to cluster in - there were 10 of us and we rented paddleboards & kayaks for the week and loved having the beach in front. We did not have any trouble getting 3 cars out & about each day- The location made it easy going to all the sites! Wonderful family memories- hated to leave!

Location is amazing and although the beach has a lot of coral and seeweed that washes up, the water is beautiful and not deep at all. Yes, it's right on the main highway but parking and leaving was not difficult, and we had a 10 passenger van. The room behind the kitchen (2 king beds) stays the coolest and the 3 rooms at the other end tend to get the hottest during the day with no a/c. A/C works great when we had to use it. We stayed 7 days and had to buy more toilet paper, paper towels and laundry powder. The faucet in the bathroom showers are difficult to regulate (especially in the master) and probably need to be repaired, but the rental agency was receptive when I suggested this. We would 100% stay there again.
