Ocean view with back and front lanai. Golf 5 minutes away! Our condominium is located in the peaceful community of Makaha Valley. Makaha is country and away from the big city! It's one of the historic older parts of the island and has the 'real' Hawaii feel. We've enjoyed living there full time with our children. The community offers many amenities. Twenty-four hour gated/guarded entry, 2 swimming pools, card activated laundry, kiddy pool, barbecue areas, tennis, and basketball courts. We have your ocean toys and tennis racquets! This property has a beautiful manicured tropical landscape with absolutely gorgeous peacocks roaming about.
WiFi connection as well as cable TV and 60 in Smart TV + WIFI. One of the only units with 2 a/c compact units in the living area and master bedroom with fans in all bedrooms. The valley usually has a very nice island breeze and with our unit unlike most in the area with a front AND back lanai, it’s most enjoyable.
There are two downstairs bedrooms and two loft bedrooms up the spiral staircase. All but the master bedroom (private) is open concept. There is one large bathroom with a long, granite counter top with two sinks.
The fully equipped kitchen has everything you’ll need. You’ll find beautiful stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher!
The unit is on the second floor so there is one row of stairs to enter.
From the front lanai you have a private ocean and mountain view with occasional rainbows and waterfalls. From the back lanai you’ll love the open green area with a BBQ. Below the condo is a full tennis court.
You have access to a free parking space and the on-site laundry facility. The island bus also has a stop in front of the complex.
The Waianae boat harbor is 10 minutes away with access to deep sea fishing and dolphin excursions.
Just one mile down the road is the famous Makaha beach. You can take an enjoyable walk to the golf course with mountain and ocean views and the Makaha Valley Golf Club featuring dining, golf, and more. If you enjoy beaches, golfing, fishing and shopping without the crowds you will love it as much as us! Waikiki is an hour away if you do decide to be a “towny” for the day.
The airport is 45 minutes away. Shopping, commercial restaurants, the movie theaters, and a water park for the kids is located in Kapolei just a 25 minute drive away. Koolina resort is 20 minutes away featuring 4 beautiful lagoons, paradise cove luau and the new Disney resort! Restaurants, grocery stores, and fast food (McDonalds, burger king, pizza hut, etc.) are 5 minutes away. At the paradise isle shop down the road you can schedule an excursions and/or rent all beach equipment (snorkel gear, surfboard's, boogie boards, etc.) we will also have some boards and snorkel gear for you....

I would have to say that this was the best vacation we ever had. I have so much mahalo to have been able to spend 30 days in Oahu with our family.
Makaha Valley is about an hour to an hour and half drive from many of the attractions on the Island, but when you’re spending 30 days there and going through the scenic beauty, it really doesn’t matter. We absolutely loved Makaha Beach park. The beach was beautiful, it was never crowded, and there’s a shave ice truck parked there every day.
The condo was perfect for our family of 6. We really enjoyed the pool and the pickle ball/ tennis courts, and the 24 hour security was great and were also very friendly. It did get hot inside the condo though on very hot days since there isn’t central air, but I don’t think most homes in beach communities have central air. The ac units were helpful though, especially the one in the bedroom.
In addition, my husband and I were working while we were there and never had an issue with the internet, even with 4 other people using the WiFi.
Penny was very easy to get a hold of and communicate with and we really enjoyed staying at her condo. This trip was definitely one for the memory books! Mahalo!!!

We are so thankful we found this spot for our month-long stay on the West Coast. It’s great if you want to be away from the busyness and touristiness of Honolulu. Very local. ❤️ Our children loved the loft bedrooms, though as parents we definitely had to watch our heads on the beams, as noted in the listing!😀 The pools are great and there are many nearby trails and beaches. Fantastic and speedy communication with the host!
Hot tip for families and book lovers… You can get a three month statewide public library pass for $10 and their children’s section at the local branch is great!

We were a family of 6, this was made up from 4 adults and 2 children. This property is great, has everything you need and more. The owners are so easy to contact and go over and above to answer questions and make your stay top notch!
Please keep in mind, the location of this property is not your typical tourist resort, you will want a car to travel as this is residential west coast. We just loved staying here, we planned trips out East to Kualoa Ranch, up to North Shore, Pearl Harbour, Dole Planation, Waikiki, Wet n Wild and more. The drive was never more than 1 hour even at peak times.
This condo location is a great spot to come back to to enjoy the later part of the day, tennis court, basketball, pools, bbq. Don't forget to check out Makaha Beach too... its amazing.
I would definitely return to this property and highly recommend to other considering a trip to Oahu!
Thanks Penny!

We had a great experience. Working around the potential impacts of a hurricane, Penny was fantastic to deal with. Everything in the condo was great. Plenty of room for the 4 of us, great views, and friendly staff.

We really enjoyed our stay at Makaha Valley Plantation. The condo is fully equipped and comfortable. The open air loft-style bedrooms were a hit with our kids. The morning coffee looking at the blooming trees and the mountains, listening to the birds are imprinted in our minds. Although you cannot sit on the lanais, the huge sliding screened doors give that outdoor feel.
We definitely have a vacation hangover!
The incredible Makaha beach down the street with its waves, fish and turtles (and even a monk seal came to swim with us one day), is absolutely fabulous!

Our family had a great stay at Penny & Cannon's condo. It was clean, a perfect fit for our family, & stocked with beach towels, cooler, & even a boogie board! Penny answered all of my questions prior to the stay. I would recommend this properly for anyone wanting a nice place away from the bustle of Honolulu.

Thank you Penny for sharing your home with us. This is definitely the best kept secret. We loved feeling like we had our own little private oasis with the local grocery stores and practically private beaches. We traveled into Honolulu every day for family functions but we were always sad to leave our beach and happy to return. I know everyone in our group would love to stay here again.

We stayed at this condo in July 2016 overall it was ok. A couple things we did not like was one bathroom for six people to share is difficult. The ac window unit in one room was ok. My boys that slept on second floor said they were hot sleeping there. We paid a cleaning fee, however on the binder book for check out instructions we have to wash towels, fold and put away. Load up dishes and run machine, sweep floor and strip beds and take out trash. I felt like it was a little bit too much to do since we paid a cleaning fee. I had a very uncomfortable time taking a shower there. It was difficult adjusting the hot & cold water. You will either have too much hot water or too much cold water. The communication was excellent with the landlord. On the other hand, my children enjoyed watching outside the property chickens and peacocks and We loved the mountain view.
