Just a quick drive to the beach and activities, but none of the hustle-bustle or crowds. The views are breathtaking, and we've noticed you'll feel yourself start to relax the moment you drive through the gate. We can't wait to share it all with you.
The Space. Our guests love staying here as it is nestled in the forest on the mountain of Hualalai overlooking the beautiful Kona coast. For those who love hiking we are close to beautiful rain forest trails and coffee farms, just a few minutes drive away. We are just minutes from beautiful beaches and the quaint Kona town. Our elevation offers a cooler climate for those who like a reprieve after a hot day at the beach. We are on 3 acres of Ohia forest that provides a sense of a quiet retreat.
Guest Access. The space is the upstairs unit only with your own private entrance and easy parking for up to 3 vehicles. You are welcome to enjoy the common large front yard however the downstairs patio and the upper part of the property with a cabin are for our other guests and tenants.
We have worked hard to try to anticipate your needs and have included beach towels and chairs, cooler bag and a small grille on the lanai. We are happy to help give tips on local excursions and events. We know and love this island having four generations that have made Hawai'i Island our home. We look forward to sharing our love for this place with you.

We so enjoyed our stay in the well appointed upstairs apartment that just always seems to be at the right temperature. The hosts were amazing and even put on a fireworks show for us on New Years eve!

Loved the property! Beautiful house, grounds, and cooler mountain temps. Comfortable beds. Only downsides are the small kitchen and the drive into town. Would stay here again if I came back.

Great location. Living room and master bedroom were very spacious. Had stuff for the beach to use like chairs, umbrella etc. One bathroom but it was very spacious. Well stocked kitchen, it was small, but hey, we only needed it warm stuff up. Wonderful outdoor deck. You can see the ocean from the deck. Washer and dryer were conveniently located. Six adults, and there was plenty of room. Great stay, would book again. And recommend.

Nice vacation home with a view! Had everything we needed and if we needed anything, the owner was quick to respond and supply! Beds were comfortable, small quaint bathroom, nice lanai to enjoy the breeze! Lots of area for the kids to play!

What a sweet retreat and sanctuary this property provided for us. It was a home base for us where we felt so comfortable and welcomed to return to after each day’s adventures. I would rebook to this location without a doubt. We already miss the “Kaloko Cottage”.

We loved staying at the cottage. Such a peaceful retreat! This home is well designed, thoughtfully stocked and absolutely beautiful. And the frog song at night was our favorite part! Easy drive down the hill into Kailua-Kona. Felt like you you were away from it all but still close to all the conveniences. And our 6 year old loved the rope swing! Great stock of beach gear too. Even some water shoes which come in handy on the rocky beaches. We’ll definitely be back!
