Our Kauai vacation rentals at Sealodge are located at the end of a small quiet side road, with no through traffic, that ends at a dramatic ocean bluff. These Princeville vacation rentals face the ocean on their lanai side. A short, rather strenuous, hike brings you to the secluded Sealodge Beach. Shopping and dining are conveniently close, with the Princeville shopping center just a mile and a half away. The charming town of Hanalei, and the world famous Hanalei beaches, are a brief ten minute drive. Sealodge is comfortable, quiet, and island casual.
As with most homes on Kauai, this vacation rental is NOT air conditioned.

I was looking for a trip for my girlfriend’s birthday and after a few hours of looking, this place popped out to me. I went with it and it was a really good find. The pictures don’t do the views justice, the place was clean and had everything we needed.
Really enjoyed our stay, highly recommend this place.

This property was great value for the price- ground floor - direct could not be closer stunning ocean views. There were two of us- it is a one bedroom unit with a sleeper sofa in the living room, and the sleeper sofa was very comfortable.The unit was clean and when we had an issue with screen door- came off track/ fixed very quicklyLaundry in unitBeach chairs et For the price it was very goodWhat I did not love- no shampoo or body wash of any kind-most places there is some kind of basic shampoo. This is more for potential renters information than a criticism.-kitchen-not that well equipped. Simply not enough dishes and silverware in my opinion.. dishwasher is not full size- although it appears that there was clearly room for a full size dishwasher as the extra space is boarded up. You will be doing dishes a lot. But given the lack of dishes cutlery mugs!-No plastic dishes or tumblers which if you’re taking stuff outside most people I think would prefer some plastic-I have found in most other rentals on Hawaii of which I have probably been in over 25 that there is usually a better provision of basics like foil, plastic wrap, although they did have lots of plastic baggies, which was great, basic condiments, including maybe ketchup and or mustard etc - screen door- the sliding door to the ground level patio seemed old- what I really didn’t like about it was that you could not lock the screen door so sometimes you might be in the unit and want to leave that door open but with the screen door shut. People walk by feet from the door- it needs to be able to lock.Finally pool-the view of the ocean if you’re in the pool is unnecessary, Lee blocked somewhat, which is unfortunate. However, the pool temperature is great not too hot not too cold, but there is literally zero shade of any kind at the pool. Perfect size for 2, liked how they furnished and the decor was nice. Loved where the dining table was placed. It was like being outside while dining. 2 portable fans helped moved the air throughout unit. Squeezed one in bathroom to keep humility down, tight but made a big difference since there is no exhaust fan. Yes, the property is older and looks funky but the unit was clean enough with tile floors, newer dishwasher and refrigerator and lots of windows full of the beautiful view. Only incident I had on first day there was the beach chairs must of had mango oils from hitting trees or juice from skins but I unfortunately found out the hard way I have a awful allergic reaction to Mango oil, skin etc (same as poison oak/ivy) and ended up in the urgent care in Princeville. Left message with management to make sure chairs were deep cleaned to avoid another incident for unknowing future guests. Never heard back from management, but we did tell the cleaning crew that came as we were leaving. But now we know and still hope to return.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We loved having a full view of the ocean and feeling the ocean breezes. This is an older, weathered condo with no AC, however the location is hard to beat. We were very comfortable with the ocean breeze, although we had the windows open the whole time. If you like a cold dark room with curtains drawn and AC cranked, then this isn’t for you. A short hike down a trail (.3 mi) takes you to a secluded beach only accessible to the property. Has a nice bay for swim/snorkel. The beach is sandy but the bay itself is rocky/coral. Can’t really ride any waves here, at least not in July. Condo is clean with plenty of towels and beach gear. We loved having a washer/dryer in the unit.

It started off bad right off the bat. We arrived on a Sunday, so it was after hours. We had a long flight & just wanted to relax. It was smoking hot in there...no a/c, (which I knew, but the reviews said it was no problem bc of the breeze. However, all the windows were shut when we arrived. No preparation for guests arrival) the lanai screen door was broken with a huge gap at the top allowing bugs inside, & we couldn't figure out the wifi info (which I later realized was my fault...it was in my email, but I thought it was a link to get the info, not realizing that it was right under.) We contacted the emergency # (bc that's all we had) & she was not happy with us for calling. After several back & forths, she finally gave us the password to the wifi & said someone would contact us the next day about the door. Well, nobody did. My husband called & left a message. We still received no response. (In addition, before we ever arrived, I received a text that we were arriving several days before we had it booked. I called & left a message. No response.) So, after 2 days of nobody calling us, I sent a very firm email bc not only was the lanai door an issue, one of the lamps was not working, the hairdryer plug was broken & dangerous, the housekeeper had left a wet, dirty rag on one of the chair cushions, & to top it off, the smoke detector was broken. Good luck with the shower knob. It Is backwards. After 4 days, they finally fixed things after I threatened to report them.

Our time at the condo was the highlight of the trip, so relaxing. We saw whales and dolphins from our lanai soon after we arrived. Incredible ocean views. Great kitchen. We loved the ocean view and hearing the waves crashing from comfy king-sized bed. We bbq’d almost every night. A perfect vacation. Thank you!

This property tuned out to be perfect for our trip to Kauai. The check in and information was clear. The site was gorgeous with an incredible view from both the bedroom and the main living room. The amenities were as described and we loved small touches such as the closet with beach chairs for use and beach towels- how thoughtful. We liked having a washer and drier as we did return muddy from hikes and kayaking - I had thoughtour stay was so short (4 days) that we likely did not need to do laundry but turned out to be an incredible asset not to pack those muddy clothes for the return flights. We also walked to the property beach where we watched the waves while a baby seal napped and snored away at the farther end of the beach- where else can you do that? Close to restaurants for the nights we did not wish to cook. Would happily stay again!

The view was great and we spotted several whale water spouts in the ocean, seen from the dinning table! The sheets and pillow cases were clean but the bedspread, pillow and mattress had had a horrible stench of body odor! A true barbarian had stayed there who needed to be introduced to soap and water. We reported the situation to management but nothing was done. Maybe bring a can of Lysol spray with you!

we have stayed at Sealodge before but this was our first time in G4. The views from the dining table as pictured and the lanai were exquisite as was the sound of the breaking surf. The upgraded pool facility was nice, parking was easy, location and access to Princeville cannot be beat. The unit has had some upgrades, but it is a bit run down. One the stove burners did not work, and the some of the kitchen items were sparse (3 wineglasses total). It was nice to have beach chairs, towels, etc. for our use. The barbecue situation is inadequate, requiring charcoal and a walk down a rutted path but understandable given the wood shake buildings. Management was easy to work with. I think we will return, perhaps to another unit.
