Very cozy living space with all the amenities you could need. Jean was great with communication and check in/out instructions were very precise and easy to follow. Beautiful garden and lots of reccomendations for things to do on the island. Highly reccomend.

The short version is everything was perfect.
Jean was an amazing host, very polite and answered all our questions. Good directions on how to get to the property and she met us there for check-in. She has an amazing yard with many different types of flowering plants. The backyard is filled with birds, and we enjoyed seeing doves and java sparrows every morning. The rental is very clean and in excellent shape, with everything needed to make it a home away from home during our vacation. The location was perfect, allowing just a short drive to downtown Hilo and the shoreline, but away from all the city noise and busy streets at the end of the day. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, with only the sound of the frogs at night. Highly recommended and we would consider staying there again.

The cottage is the perfect size and it’s lovely. The garden is amazing and beautiful to wander around in. The only thing I would say that is a downfall, is the birds. They are loud in the mornings.

We had a great experience using this as a base for visiting family in the area. I would highly recommend this VRBO when looking to stay in the Hilo area. It is a very comfortable and quiet place .

I was traveling on business and this cottage had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The grounds are beautiful with loads of tropical flowers and a koi pond and the cottage itself is very well maintained, very clean and relaxing. There is no air conditioning if that is important to you, but the area is cool and has a nice breeze blowing which keeps the place cool. I would definitely return to this location for future trips.

This quaint little cottage sits just outside of the busy downtown Hilo area which makes it very quiet and relaxing. Jean was the perfect host. She checked me in quickly and then basically left me alone to enjoy my stay. She provided a picnic basket full of food upon my arrival which was very thoughtful. Also, after discovering that I had forgotten my toothbrush I was delighted to find that a travel toothbrush was waiting for me in the bathroom for just such an emergency! You can’t go wrong with this place.
