What do you think of when you hear the word Hawaii? The beautiful ocean, swaying palm trees, volcanoes and endless adventures, beach hopping, shave ice, coffee, pineapples? Welcome to Hala Kahiki Retreat----from here you can experience all of the above and much, much more! Hala Kahiki Retreat is located in the heart of the historic Kailua Village right on Kailua Bay and you can walk to numerous restaurants, local shops, beaches or expand your horizons and rent a bike from the local bike share. Explore even further and hop in your car parked conveniently on site, in your free assigned parking spot, to find hidden local beaches, ATV tours, hike the volcanoes or hit Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Hala Kahiki means Pineapple in Hawaiian and you’ll find this theme and tropical decor, throughout. as well as brand new appliances, all new furniture, paint, and carpet. Hala Kahiki Retreat has everything you need to make it your home base. Complete your home-cooked meal in our fully equipped kitchen or simply savor freshly ground Kona Coffee, tropical drinks or a relaxing cup of tea! This retreat has extras such as a blender, coffee grinder, coffee maker, and electric tea kettle.
Split zone AC installed May 2023!!! All new vinyl plank installed in living room and bedroom in May 2024. (pictures to be updated soon)

You’ll wake up each morning to ocean waves breaking against iconic lava rocks with palm tree views straight from your pillow—all without even leaving the new King bed! From the lanai you have beautiful views of Kailua Bay and swaying palm trees and the main street of Kailua Village, Alii Drive. Watch seasonal parades, fireworks and festivities right from your lanai.

Grab beach towels and boogie boards, stock the cooler-on-wheels, throw the backpack beach chairs on and after a 10 minute walk arrive at the Kailua Bay Pier. From here charter a snorkeling or whale watching boat, rent a kayak, or simply enjoy a Hawaiian sunset on the beach and go for a swim. In October, this pier is the starting and finishing point of the famous Ironman World Championship!

Owner favorites: Start the day right with authentic Parisian crepes at The Frenchman’s Cafe, or Kona coffee and brunch at Daylight Mind Coffee Company, savor the light and crispy fresh catch fish & chips at Foster’s Kitchen, and don’t miss One Aloha Shave Ice for the area’s best shave ice. We also like Kona Alii because it has a secured entry foyer and 2 elevators.

After the day’s adventures, breathe in the tropical breezes and wind down to the sound of crashing waves on your own private Lanai.

We look forward to hosting you and your family and friends at Hala Kahiki Retreat. If you have any questions please call our local property management company. They are located nearby and someone is always available.
