This was a great location to stay at as it is close to the beach and the Zoo was within walking distance, along with other great attractions. It was clean and the manager was easy to get ahold of.
Only downside of the property was that the air conditioner leaked and parking was difficult as there are a limited number of spaces available.

The place did look as advertised . More than enough space for the two of us . We had a problem on arrival that was dealt with promptly the next day. Previous reviews had indicated a lot of noise from the hostel near by but we experienced no concerns about that .
Walk to the beach is as advertised . It is close to shopping and many restaurants that we enjoyed . We did take advantage of the parking and laundry services . Overall we would recommend .

Well, where to begin. First and foremost, you will not feel like you’are in paradise at the Tradewind Plaza. There are 3 hostels surrounding it and the occupants talk and laugh until midnight on the street in front of building, just below your paper thin windows.
Almost every night and morning the following occurred:
9:30 pm a car with loud music and reverberating base returns home. Then the surrounding bar empties glass bottles in the dumpster below your sliding glass door.
9:50 pm a motorcycle roars outside as well as delivery trucks.
Until 11:00pm-12 am you will hear conversations of people hanging out in front of the unit from the hostels
At 4:50am someone from the complex goes to work by jumpstarting his car and setting off his car alarm. If he doesn’t get it started the first time it happens again - must have lost his key
4:55 am - every 3rd day - a guy screams, in jealous rage, at the top of his lungs in the street below
5:30 am the garbage trucks begin emptying dumpsters right outside the unit
5:45 am construction work begins with trucks and back up beepers blaring and all other accompanying noises - equipment, etc.
The air conditioning units are window units installed into the window with plastic sides and thin plywood bases. There is no noise insulation so It is difficult to go to sleep before 11:30 pm and difficult to sleep beyond 4:50 am.
Checkin and checkout:
I called the host from the airport as instructed, after collecting my baggage. I was told to call back when I was in front of the rental.building, he explained that he worked across the street and would be right there. I called as soon as I arrived in front of the building-there is no parking on Lemon Road so you have to stop illegally. Of course he didn’t answer his phone. I left a message - no response. I waited 5 minutes and called again. He accused me of taking too long to get there and he would be here as soon as he finished checking someone else in to another property. Finally, after 25 minutes he arrived. At that point we had been traveling for 18 hrs and were exhausted.
We were told we had to have a guest host check us out on our last day. I called at 8:15 am for a 9am checkout. Needless to say with their disorganization, it took over an hour to check out. Almost missed our flight.
Side note: On day 4, we came back to the unit and found a 4” pet turtle on the floor.-probably got tired of hiding from us and needed food and water.

Listing was true to pictures: clean, well arranged, beautiful decor, fully stocked kitchen, etc.. However, I have to give it 2 stars because I had issues with the location and building set-up. One thing to note is that Lemon Street (where building is located) has a few Hostels and we had several unpleasant encounters. The first night the police and ambulance had to be called as there was a knife fight below just to the right of the building. Lots of chaos and air was tense as people continued yelling at each other through the night. Another time we saw a woman defecating in the street in the middle of the day and announcing it to the world! This is not what you want to experience when you are on vacation . . . and with small children. The living room has a pull-out couch but it is difficult to get any sleep in that room as the sliding glass doors and windows are paper-thin and with erratic screamers and fighting, cars constantly driving by, and garbage trucks coming by at 5:30am . . .not to mention very thin curtains that let in the street lights throughout the night . . . it was stressful. Again, not what I want to experience on my vacation. Lemon Street is almost like an alley-way, so all hotel garbage bins and parking spots (plus did I mention Hostels?) are on this street.
We hung our wet towels on the patio chairs to dry and received a note stating that it was against property policy to leave anything unsightly on the patio and they would fine us if we did that again. Well . . . unsightly towels should be the least of their worries when they've got unsightly scenes on the street. We were only given one key (granted, I didn't ask for a second) and this key was the only way to get into the building and up the elevator. Another guest told me the key only allowed him to go to his particular floor and no other. On one occasion my husband used the key to let us go down the elevator and when another family jumped in half-way down, I had to go back up for forgotten item, the family was unable to help us to to our floor. So they "keyed" us to their floor. Problem is again without a key you cannot move the elevator. So we tried to use the emergency staircase - mistake. All the floors are locked and you can only go down to parking lot. We couldn't do late check-out but they did allow us to leave our luggage in their offices across the street. Wish I could rate them higher because accommodations are nice.
