MAIN HOUSE LIVING AREA: The Great Room features 18 foot vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan that encompasses a gourmet kitchen and dining/living areas. The kitchen features a large island and a handy breakfast bar where guests can gather. OUTDOOR LIVING AREA: Over 2000 square feet of Honed Beaumaniere French Limestone floors (imported from France by the original owners) flow seamlessly around the home. Both covered and open air patios feature plush chaise lounges and resort-style furnishings surrounding the custom infinity edge pool and spa. Create your own flavors and unique experiences using our Al Fresco gas grill and rotisserie, Kamado Joe charcoal grill, and wood-fired pizza oven. This area is perfect for enjoying the beautiful Kona sunsets while sipping a tropical cocktail. The fun does not end after the sun sets as the area magically comes to life with the lighting of the tiki torches.
The house is comprised of 3 separate pavilions which are connected via Honed Beaumaniere French Limestone walkways. The King Master Suite with his and her bathrooms is housed independently in pavilion 1. All of the suites are equipped with private bathrooms, televisions, ceiling fans, aircon as well as their own outdoor lounge areas. It is rare to find a vacation rental where couples can retreat to their own private spaces.
People new to Hawaii often don't realize that the higher elevations offer the perfect temperature compared to the heat at sea level. This property is like walking into heaven. Great indoor outdoor living spaces that all have a great zen vibe. It’s impossible to describe seeing the blue infinity pool, blue ocean and then blue sky at the same time. Annie was amazing and super helpful. Couldn’t be happier with our small wedding at this location.

I am not sure I will be able to capture everything that should be said about the property, our stay, the wedding, and Annie (the property manager). If you have any doubts on booking, do not hesitate. Everything you need is here along with things you didn’t know you’d need. I planned a small wedding (19 guests) without a planner and still felt relaxed. My mother in law made the best pizzas here, our families stayed comfortably in the three separate but close buildings, and we had a luau that was spectacular. The referrals for food, flowers, and entertainment from the property after booking are spot on. Annie’s calm and nurturing presence cannot be overlooked. She’s such a special person to the property and made the stay so very smooth. It was the best day of my life, and I was depressed leaving even though we were on our way to the Four Seasons. 10/5 stars !

We absolutely loved having our wedding at Hale Wailele. The booking process was super easy. We sent a message to Karen and she replied quickly. She answered any questions that we had and we booked the place! The pictures do not do this place justice! I loved waking up to a view and just sitting out on the pool chair or the rocking chair. Our families also loved the place. Everyone told us it was so beautiful. We were able to use all the amenities, the pool, the bbq, the pizza oven, etc. Throughout our stay, Annie was very helpful in answering any questions we had about the property. Our only regret is that we did not book more time here!

Our stay and wedding at Hale Wailele was phenomenal. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue for our special day. Annie the property manager was amazing! She went above and beyond our expectations. Annie made sure to carve out time for us to walkthrough the property on several occasions so that we could plan the layout of our wedding. She answered all questions and was so helpful with suggestions for executing a beautiful wedding.
The estate is breathtaking! The pictures just don’t capture the beauty that surrounds you from the moment you walk through the doors. The decor is tasteful, beautiful, and quality. We would recommend this estate to everyone and will return!

We were lucky enough to snag a cancellation at this property and from the minute we booked until the day we checked out everything was amazing.
A week after we booked our reservation, We received a package in the mail with flyers and different recommendations of things we can do on our stay. It helped us book some of our excursions prior to arriving.
Upon arriving the house was stocked with a lot of the essentials, which was a pleasant surprise and I am not sure how but the home/ property was even better than we ever imagined. There was even little gift for my boys in their room which they absolutely loved! The view was breath taking and the home had everything we needed to cook with (as well as entertain) AND all the essentials needed to go to the beach! My kids (and husband) LOVED feeding time for the Fish every day, so much that I am surprised they haven’t asked us to put one in our home!
As a family we typically book through VRBO several times a year because with such a large family (there is 7 of us) hotels usually aren’t very enjoyable. This trip was one of our all time best vacations and a lot of it was due to this property (including the owner & property manager). If you have the opportunity to book this home/ property definitely don’t let it pass you by!
We will definitely be back next time we visit the big island!

I stayed at this property for five nights and hosted my wedding in the front yard. It was the most amazing, luxurious, and fancy-without-being-pretentious home I have ever stepped foot in. Before my trip I looked at all the pictures I could find online, imagining what the house might be like, thinking there was no way the property could be as beautiful as the photos depict. But somehow the place is even better. I was blown away walking in the door. If you are considering staying here I would 100% recommend it. The property manager Annie is fantastic and helped with all our questions. The home is well-stocked and I managed to find everything I needed to host my wedding guests over multiple nights. The only thing I wish I could change is I wish I could have stayed longer.
Overall, this is a fantastic amazing beautiful dream VRBO location. Please book this stay if possible. There is no way you could be disappointed.

We would like to thank Paul & Karen Hill for opening up their beautiful home to our family. This was a bucket list trip two years in the making to bring children and grandchildren to the state where my husband was born and to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. It is a vacation none of us will ever forget and the memories made will last a lifetime. We so appreciate the Hills sharing their treasure with others; Hale Wailele was everything we dreamed and more! You truly cannot describe the unbelievable view you get from your own private lanai. The layout of the house allows for total privacy to sleep and amazing open floor plan for family time.
Our top ten things we love about Hale Wailele:
1. The beautiful koi fish ponds and lush gardens inside the home.
2. A/C in every bedroom, extremely comfortable beds and en suite bathrooms.
3. The open-air bar outside- might be the most comfortable chairs we have ever sat on and allowed us to root on our hometown teams and granddaughters to watch cartoons on the big screen.
4. They thought of everything – beach gear, corn hole, yoga mats, pool floaties, games, books and the list goes on.
5. Martha, with Big Island Chef, delivered an amazing meal. Be sure to get the ahi tuna appetizer and the Macadamia nut caramel dessert.
6. Star gazing at night in the chaise loungers with all the lights off.
7. Hale Wailele is close to beaches, airport, shops and excursions.
8. All of the amazing sounds of nature . . . and even the rooster that kept us up at night LOL!
9 The pool, hot tub and lanai are so relaxing.
10. A huge shout out to Annie the caretaker extraordinaire. Always promptly answered our request and gave wonderful suggestions. Even brought in a toddler bed with Moana bedding that my granddaughter loved, high chair and anything else we requested. She truly made everything effortless for us to enjoy our time as a family.
Don’t hesitate to book this piece of paradise. We can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful estate, perfect for multiple family units or friends who want a little space for sleeping quarters. While the view is killer it is a little out of town so don’t plan on walking anywhere. The only thing to consider is if bringing littles who don’t swim or walk well, there is water and stairs all over the place so it’s not ideal for toddler age. Otherwise it’s amazing and the property manager on site is helpful without being nosy.

Great experience with easy communication. Beautiful clean home. We loved the care package of all the Hawaiian snacks when we arrived. Our favorite part of the stay was the amazing sunsets and the koi fish.
