Great location in downtown Kona. First off this place has NO AIR CONDITIONING! I’m in dentistry so I am very meticulous when it comes to cleanliness. I have pictures that I have taken for proof. Some of the pillows had no pillowcases. The pillows all smelled. We never found extra linens. Have fun getting in touch with the Grand welcome team. They are a joke! After this experience I will only rent from private owners. The difficulty getting in touch to ask about an hour earlier check in was extremely frustrating and difficult. Many of the towels had disgusting stains on them. We had to wash all of them prior to using. We actually ended up staying in a hotel for a few days to just go to a place that was clean and fresh. As beautiful as this trip was I couldn’t wait for it to end due to the smell of the pillows alone. Whatever company they have to clean is terrible! There were some splatter marks in the bathrooms which is quite disgusting. The shower in the master bathroom needs to be completely changed.
The silverware and glasses were filthy! The drawers had crumbs. The only thing we cooked was chicken wings in the oven because the kitchen was filthy. I have rented before with VRBO and it was a stellar!
The BIG PLUS is the amazing view! It’s beautiful! I would definitely consider a different property. I am astonished that I paid so much for this place.

To summit up, the condo needs to be upgraded. The windows are falling out. The screens are falling off. It was infested with ants and other bugs it’s away. I guess it’s expected but they don’t need to be all over the place. The beds need to be replaced or as hard as a rock it needs to be painted walls need to be fixed. Don’t get me wrong the condo where it’s at is amazing you’re right on top of the ocean and it’s in a wonderful spot at sea village. It just needs upgrades.

The property was worth it for the view alone. To wake up and make coffee and watch sunset with that view, and sleep hearing the pounding waves was heaven for me. (Beware … for some it may almost be too loud!). Yes, as others have noted this property could use some aesthetic updating, and I would have loved it if the hosts provided a couple more noodles/and perhaps boogie boards/beach supplies as other rentals have (we somehow missed that there were beach towels in the upstairs bathroom closet so we bought our own), but overall the experience was wonderful. The two levels and two bedrooms/2+baths gave our family privacy we wouldn’t have had in a hotel room. We knew going into this that there was no air conditioning and enjoyed the fans and open lanai doors - we were very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked, the location is perfect (easy access to all parts of the island) grounds are clean, pool is lovely, parking is easy. Thank you!

The location of this condo, right above the waves pounding on the rocks, is a rare and amazing find. This condo is definitely the best one in the whole complex. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The whole condo is light and cheery. I loved waking up every morning to the view of the ocean. If you enjoy sleeping to the sound of the waves on the beach, then this is the place for you!

This property was perfect for our family of four. So many windows that gave constant access to stunning ocean views! Plenty of room for everyone to feel like we had space to relax. The location is ideal--close enough to shops and restaurants to be convenient without being in the middle of everything. We would absolutely stay here again!

Our stay here was awesome- and location was prime- we were close to the beach, and no more that 10-15 mins away from Costco, Walmart and Safeway. Also there’s beaches near by where you can enjoy your day.
The place itself was awesome because you’re literally right next to the water- so my husband and I would have our coffee on the balcony or have lunch or dinner and be able to see the ocean from our window. Completely breathtaking.
Check in was very easy- and responce with management was quick and responsive.

The unit is part of resort with little to no privacy. The internet was not working, even after complaining nobody came to fix it. If you are working remotely and staying long definitely not a place to stay.

The 2 lanais are right on the water and the unit is 2-story on the end of building 4 of the Sea Village. Listened to the ocean crash on the rocks for our entire stay. Wine glasses and knives could use an upgrade. Functional, but dated.
