The Waterfall House is the ideal location for couples looking to get away! Whether it's your honeymoon, special anniversary or romantic tryst in the tropics of Hawaii, the exotic and peaceful ambiance immediately transports you to a state of rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
This elegant home features an open concept with teak wood accents. The unique floors are Javanese marble brought in from Bali. The round King size bed is set beneath a vaulted ceiling with a skylight, perfect for stargazing! The ocean-facing lanai, with a private hot tub, overlooks the unforgettable beauty of Maui's ocean and valley. A tropical paradise with a pool, outdoor shower, and poolside dining with a gas barbecue.
The house also has a dining area that is right off the open kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with the necessary cooking utensils.
An outdoor shower provides a welcomed hideaway in the warmth of the sun or under the star-lit skies. The large marble and tile shower, landscaped for privacy with tall gingers, bromeliads, Japanese irises, and giant jungle philodendrons will entice you! Please note: all showers in this house are outdoors.
Note: Please keep in mind, our center is a rustic compound in the middle of the jungle. We do have de-humidifiers and air purifiers in every room as well as air conditioning units for when it is hot. We are centered in a tropical rainforest with many weird and wonderful insect species. We only use natural pesticides and cleaning chemicals on the property. As a result, we occasionally have more animal visitors. These may include geckos, ants, flying cockroaches, centipedes, cane spiders, and mice. We are in their natural habitat, so we will not be able to refund any portion of your stay for these house guests....

We had a fabulous 3 night stay at the Waterfall House. The home is more beautiful than pictures could show and the views are absolutely amazing, you could hear the waterfall and even the waves in the distance, right from the deck. At night we'd turn off all the lights in the house, step onto the deck, and just stand in awe of all the stars you can see. Having our own private pool and Jacuzzi was awesome, the kitchen was very well equipped with all updated appliances, and the details in the decor were just stunning. We got fresh fruits from vendors down the road for breakfast each morning, and kept the calming Hawaiian music on the surround sound all day long. The little geckos were adorable entertainment on our lazy days lounging around the house.
We are the kind of people who usually only see the sunrise if we're still up from the night before, but we left the curtains open and woke up to magical sunrises every morning (then we closed the curtains and went back to sleep like normal people, haha).
We did have issues the first few mornings with ants attracted to the vines around the bed, but the staff was quick to respond. Zara, Leahi, and Tanner were all so friendly and helpful, they gave wonderful suggestions for the area and pleasant conversations, while swiftly handling the issues. Once we got the right spray and traps set out, we didn't have any more troubles with ants the rest of our stay.
One thing to be aware of is that there's only a small AC unit in front of the main bed, and the house can get quite hot and humid at times. The cross breeze through the sliding doors was very nice, but luckily we found some powerful little fans in the closet that really helped make the rest of the home more comfortable. A quick jump in the pool or rinse in the outdoor shower never hurt either. The upstairs bedroom and loft were surprisingly cool and made for a nice afternoon nap, but the marble staircase is extremely steep and slick, so I wouldn't recommend sleeping up there at night if you get up to pee a lot, lol.
Being our first time to Maui, we were trying to see and do a lot. We enjoyed Cafe Mambo in Paia, swimming at Twin Falls, and had one of the best experiences ever at Mama's Fish House. In the future when we book here (and we will), we'll stay at least 4 nights and plan to not do anything else, take the time to truly enjoy the private, relaxing, romantic retreat this house is. It's really a vacation in itself.

Amazing, private and unique property. It was 2nd island stay for our honeymoon adventure thru Hawaii islands and I don't think it could be any better. Felt very welcomed when we first arrived and was pleasantly surprised that property looked and felt even better than pictured. The waterfalls can be seen from back patio. Pool is fantastic, hot tub was mind blowing good and we spend every night in it enjoying champagne. Sunrise can be seen from main bed and is very romantic. Overall structure of the building and rooms is super unique and inviting. It's safe to say we loved it. I
Only downside for some it maybe it's remoteness. It's pretty far from everything.. But if you are looking for romantic, remote, secluded, quite, beautiful place that has everything. This is it. Perfect honeymoon spot

Only regret is we didn't stay longer but are already thinking of future visits. It rained heavily a couple of nights we were there, but its didn't even matter. The space feels magical and pictures do not do the place justice, truly is like being in paradise with unbelievable views.

It is hard to put into words how magical the Waterfall house is! Pictures cannot do justice to the home and the scenery. Extremely private, your own gorgeous house and private pool, multiple decks, all set in a lush jungle in the mountains with a waterfall right out your back door!! The farm itself is beautiful, the check in process was easy and quick, and everyone we met was lovely. My husband and I stayed for 3 days and we only left to get food at the nearest town haha! Will be back as soon as we can! Mahalo!

First of all, the location of this property is outstanding. It feels like paradise...gorgeous views, gentle breezes, beautiful sunrises. The outdoor spaces are wonderful, with some exceptions that I will mention later. HOWEVER, the lack of attention to detail in this property is visible at every turn. The home feels very tired, not to mention a lack of cleanliness. Roaches, lizards, ants and other creatures were resident in the house throughout our stay. The refrigerator (circa 1995) was filthy on the outside. A baking sheet was filthy and unusable. When we got out the aluminum foil to put on the baking sheet, it was multi-colored, as if it had been in there for years, oxidizing. During heavy rains, water was dripping on the master bed. Yes....you read this correctly. Water dripping on the master bed! The screens on the doors were torn, and the doors were continually falling off the track. I fell thru a rotten canvas-back chair located on the pool deck. They said they would bring two more chairs (they did) but the matching chair of the one that I fell through was left there (as if I was going to risk falling through that one!). When I went to the office to complain about these problems, I was told "wow...no one has ever complained about any of these things". The nice lady appeared shocked, but told me they would make sure that all of the items would be taken care of before the next guest arrived, including a new roof. Wow...suddenly everything was OK! It would be perfect for the next guest. I felt so much better!!
We also were told that they were struggling because their cleaning person of 10 years recently retired. Guess what? Not my problem. I also was told that "the Maui weather wrecks havoc on everything, thus many of the problems we were experiencing. Also, not my problem. In my opinion, it is the property manager's job to do whatever it takes to keep a luxury property in great shape, regardless of the challenges they face...or don't rent it!! I went on another social media travel site after our trip and read a review from 15 years ago and guess what? A strangely similar response was provided to that vacationer...."never heard that before". Bottom line? The setting is wonderful, and the house could also be wonderful, if only it was taken care of in a proactive manner, with attention to detail!! We will NEVER return to this house. The entire experience (except for our time on the outdoor decks/patios) was a huge disappointment.
