Unit #142 is in building 21, a two bedroom Garden View Paradise unit is in the heart of the Kiahuna gardens, this beautifully furnished two level unit is away from the noise of roads and parking lots, just a minute's walk to the beach and far enough from the lagoon so the frogs don't keep you awake at night. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms are downstairs, the living room, dining area and fully equipped kitchen are in the upper level. This is one of the few units with cathedral ceilings and huge bank of windows, giving unparalleled light and spaciousness. Outdoor living includes a furnished upper balcony lanai, as well as a ground level lanai off the master bedroom with huge lawns all around. This is a wonderful unit for families. The view from the lanais are of lawn and garden and the twin bridge beyond.
Our guests have all the privileges available to any other Kiahuna guest, including free swimming, fitness room, and tennis at the Poipu Beach Athletic Club.
A wonderful sandy swimming beach is only a quick bare foot walk across the Kiahuna lawns, where you can snorkel, swim, surf, and sunbathe to your hearts content. Complimentary beach towels and chairs are available at the beach hut. World-class golf is at the nearby Kiahuna Golf Club, or Poipu Bay Golf Club, home of the Grand Slam of Golf.
Choose from over 20 excellent restaurants in the area, from shave ice and puka dogs to the elegant Plantation Gardens Restaurant right at Kiahuna. Or you can grab some fresh Opakapaka in Koloa and grill your supper on a barbecue right on the front lawn.
We provide one towel and linen replenishment in a 7 night stay. Additional housekeeping can be arranged upon check in.

This is the third or fourth time we've stayed at the Kiahuna plantation and we've also stayed next door at the Marriott Waiohai a couple of times. We've absolutely loved our family vacations here starting when our daughters were just starting elementary school. Now at 23 &25 they still love joining us here.
Part of the reason is having space and their own beds in the shared second bedroom. Both the Kiahuna plantation and Waiohai have their advantages. The Kiahuna seems more spacious with our unit having the living area and kitchen upstairs with 2 lanais. Downstairs their is a porch area on the ground off the master bedroom. There are no sealed windows, only louvers , no AC, but ceiling fans and portable fans along with the great ocean breeze keeps the place very comfortable for us. We prefer it because the adjustment to inside and outside is easy. There is always a nice breeze inside. The place is a bit more humid, but the weather here on Kauai is usually perfect. Low 80s and mild moderate humidity.
The appliances can be a bit more dated as units are individually owned. But the large open beautiful grounds and amazingly uncrowded feel is fantastic. We often walk over and swim at Po ipu beach by the Waiohai or even have lunch at the Honu bar or Brennekes. But often we just hang out at Kiahuna beach here. This unit did not have AC and we knew that and loved our week stay the last week of May. No ocean view, but gorgeous views and easy walk on the lawn to beach.

This unit has such a beautiful location in Kiahuna. Beautiful views from the downstair and upstair lanais. Absolutely loved sitting outside and enjoying the views.
However, it’s so outdated that it bothered us. We knew it wasn’t a super updated unit from looking at the pictures and we were fine with that.
We understand keeping with the old Hawaiian ambiance. The unit needs painting, some patching has been done and not properly painted. Kitchen appliances need to be replaced, they are so old and showing signs of rust. The dishwasher is barely usable. The paper towel holder is completely rusted out.
The shower and tub are so old it’s creepy. Not sure if they’re original to the condo, but they need to be replaced. They were clean. The towel holders need to be replaced as they are starting to bubble and chip. Carpet needs to be replaced, it’s clean, but so old. Didn’t feel comfortable walking in it.
Once again, loved the location. But thins can be updated without changing the ambiance.

This unit is nicely situated in the wonderful Kiahuna Plantation property. As some mentioned, it needs some updates to dressers, bathrooms, carpet and kitchen. But, we had a wonderful stay, the owner was very responsive and helpful, and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals for a family of 5. We would return to this property again.

The property is very well located. There is walkable access to Poipu beach and a beautiful walking trail that goes for many miles south along the coast is a 10 minute walk away. All other Kauai beaches and coastal hiking trails are within a 1.5 hr drive. The property is on the beach and includes a "beach hut" where snorkeling gear can be rented and surfing lessons purchased. Unfortunately, for most of our stay, the property's direct beach access was not available due to a structural failure of the wood steps that connected the property to the beach; thus, the beach had to be accessed via the neighboring public access point.
The property grounds are lovely and very well maintained. We did not use the pool and gym facilities that are located across the street (primary thoroughfare) from the condo buildings and primary property.
Our two-bedroom condo was quite spacious, and beds were quite comfortable. However, the unit as a whole is looking a bit dated and needs to be refurbished. One of the two showers needed maintenance before we could use it. The dishwasher did not work well, and the tv system was challenging to use, even for the tech-savvy members of the family.

We rented two units on this last visit. Our adult children stayed in the 2 bedroom and were very comfortable. Attractive well cared for unit with a great location on the property and most importantly pleasant communication with the owner who nicely agreed to a late checkout to accommodate our late flight. Would return without question.

This is our third time staying at Kiahuna Plantation. The property/resort itself is so beautiful and spacious. In the past, we have stayed in a one bedroom unit but booked a two bedroom 2 level unit which was a real luxury to have the extra space. The location of Gords unit is perfect with great grassy walk out area and right in the middle of the property close and easy access to the beach and athletic club across the street. Gord was a pleasure to deal with - very accommodating and quick to respond and called a few times to confirm a few details. The units at Kiahuna are simple and basic but have everything you would need and give the real authentic Hawaiian feeling. We can't wait to come back!
