Rick has done a great job setting up a beautiful stay. We had everything we needed. We took the trail (starting close to the back porch) which leads all the way down to Wylie/Annini beach a few times. It's a bit of a hill but it's a very nice shaded walk with beautiful trees along the way.
Some people have mentioned about the hot water in the shower running out...that is to be expected, just don't take VERY long showers and space them out as a couple and you'll be fine.
We enjoyed sitting on the back porch in the mornings...it's very pleasant.

We absolutely loved our visit at this apartment. It was incredibly well equipped with everything we could imagine that we would need for our stay - we especially appreciated the coffee machine, the washing machine/dryer, the snorkeling gear, the dishwasher, the relaxing porch, Scrabble, and the well stocked bathroom. The location is also so close to so many wonderful and useful places: Foodland, Farmers Market, beaches, wonderful local towns, ice cream, and so much more. The house had such an adorable, local, and relaxing feel. We felt instantly at home and did not want to leave. We would happily return!

My husband and I had a fantastic time staying at this apartment! It was in a quiet area (minus the chickens in the morning), but close enough that it was just a quick trip to Lihue or Hanalei. The kitchen was fully stocked with pans, plates, and anything you need to make meals - which we took advantage of. Communication with Rick was quick and easy. I know other reviews mention the lack of A/C - as long as you keep the windows open for airflow and turn the ceiling fan on, you will sleep great! Similar to the West Coast of the U.S., most of the island doesn't have A/C unless you are staying in a hotel.

Overall this was a very nice place to stay. The closest beach is a steep walk down a hill but it wasn't very hard to get to and it was lovely to be at. Roosters will wake you up at dawn but I think that is just a feature of the island.
My only complaints were the lack of air conditioning, which leaves the house feeling and smelling a little moist. Also, the walls are thin and you can hear the neighbors cough and sneeze through the walls.
Overall it was worth the price and a good value.

This unit was nearly perfect for our stay. The unit is in a secluded and quiet area. All the amenities were a great addition, such as a kitchen, in-unit laundry, and even beach chairs and snorkels.
The only cons were the lack of A/C. There were a lot of fans but it still didnt feel comfortable to sleep at night with the heat. The shower also runs out of hof water by the time a second person is halfway thru their shower, so you have to shower quickly.
Overall, we did really enjoy our stay here and would come again!

Just a terrific stay in Princeville and our stay in Rick's place was a big reason why. Clean, comfortable, cool, ideally located near major beaches--the listing for the property and the photos are completely accurate. Bed, shower, kitchen all first rate. Easy communication with host. Could have been better overall.

We loved our stay at this comfortable apartment. It was well equipped, somehow finding room for everything you might need, without feeling cluttered. The shower was wonderful- great water pressure! All instructions were clear. Loved being in this area of the island. We were grateful to stay in this lovely home.

The property is just perfect for an extended stay. The unit has a bedroom area, living room area, Lanai, and full kitchen with washer and dryer and full size refrigerator. It makes it possible to shop for groceries and do at home meals; a huge boon in Princeville.
The decorations are very Hawaii and make the whole place feel like a home away from home.
Having stayed at several VRBOs, this is one of the best for a couple to have a peaceful romantic respite.
Highest recommendation.

Spacious lower studio, surrounded by colorful trees and flowers. We didn’t need to contact Rick during our visit because communication beforehand was so thorough, there was a binder of helpful info, and it was the most fully equipped rental ever! We especially enjoyed the full kitchen, washer and dryer, ample paper products and toiletries, and a cooler with ice packs. As for location, we prefer less busy, out of the way locations like Princeville. We had walking access to Anini beach or a short drive to Lumahai, Tunnels and other close by. It is worth it to explore other parts of the island; the Napali Coast (we did a sunset dinner cruise) and Kokee and Waimea Canyon State Parks, but always appreciated returning here at the end of the day; the North Shore was the best! Highly recommend this relaxing studio when visiting Kauai!

This is the best place for us as - hmm well we are aging and want simple, reliable, and a little off the beaten path. If you want all the pools and people book just down the road at the Westin Resort but that is not for us unless we want to walk their grounds and have a meal at the bar or restaurant. The beach is just down the path and shopping the other direction- just a short walk away.Rick really takes care of your needs - thanks again! We will be back
