Set on a lush green hill above magical Kaneohe Bay, this apartment offers a serene getaway and is within 10 minutes of Kailua Beach, a boat or kayak trip to the Kaneohe Bay Sandbar or 2 to 5 minutes from popular hiking trails.
Listen to the gentle rain as you sleep, awaken to the sound of birds greeting the sun, and then take an easy drive to Kailua or Lanikai beach, Kualoa Ranch or catch a boat to the sandbar in Kaneohe Bay.
The studio apartment has been renovated recently and is in excellent condition. New appliances and cabinetry in the kitchen make meal preparation a breeze. It occupies the ground floor of our home (we live upstairs) and has its own private entrance.
The neighborhood is very quiet and there is a bus stop at the bottom of the hill, although we recommend a car for the best Oahu experience. Off street parking is available for one car.
Wi-Fi and cable TV are provided as is a charging station for phones and tablets. A laptop friendly desk has power and a second charging station. You may use our laundry equipment if you schedule your use with your host.
The patio is amid a tropical garden and has a barbeque grill, table, and chairs for outside dining and relaxation.
There is a guest parking area in our driveway and a quiet path to the ocean side of the house that leads to the private entrance to your apartment, through a patio with barbeque grill, table, and chairs.
The apartment is on the ground floor of our residence, we live upstairs and will respect your privacy. We are happy to offer advice or recommendations to enhance your stay.
There is a popular hiking trail that originates nearby.

Very clean property with nice sized kitchen/bathrooom areas and single room. A good size for a single traveler or a couple (with maybe a baby or very small child.) Great views from your patio including of the bay and from the neighborhood.The hosts are very nice and can offer advice or information about local sights etc, if you want it. There is parking for a single small to moderate sized vehicle and the hosts reserve 2 days a week for guest to use the washer and dryer, but you can arrange to use anytime if needed. Wifi was fine for anything I needed to do online.
Be aware that this is an actual neighborhood, not a tourist party site. It is quiet in the sense of no parties or late night noise, but like many real Hawaiian neighborhoods, the fact that windows are open, people are outdoors and the houses are close together means that you can hear a lot of different ambient noises in the day/evening, and also the neighbors can hear you. So if you want to play music or videos, or have phone conversations late at night you might want to go elsewhere.

I was fortunate enough to spend three months with Elizabeth and Terry in this beautiful studio apartment below their home. As a travelling therapist, I have had many different experiences with housing, short/long term stays, etc. and this place blew them all out of the water. Communication with this couple was easy, well organized, and extremely welcoming. Upon arrival to the home, I found that the kitchen was fully stocked with the appliances/dishes I needed, the grill was cleaned with a brand-new tank of propane and a bag that included a lighter and all the grilling tools one may need. The sink was set up with a new bottle of dish detergent, the shower fully stocked with unopened bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and a fresh bar of soap. All toiletries were brand new with replacements stored away for future use. If ever I ran out of paper towels, trash bags, etc. they would restore them for me immediately. The studio was spotless upon my arrival. They did everything in their power to make me feel comfortable and to ensure that I had everything I needed. As a traveler from the mainland, there were many items that I needed but did not want to purchase because I knew I could not fly them back home with me (beach chair, umbrella, cooler bags, etc). All I had to do was ask and before I could get home from work and they would have all of these items set out on the porch for me to borrow for my duration. I absolutely loved the location, the views, and the neighbors. I felt more comfortable in this studio than anywhere else I have ever been. Also, if you enjoy hiking, there is a hike, The Friendship Garden, that begins approximately 10 feet from the driveway- great for a little evening exercise. Throughout my stay, they ensured that I always had a place to park in the driveway- which was VERY CONVENIENT if you have ever had to struggle with street parking. They always gave me my space, I was able to come and go as I pleased, and would always check-in to be sure I was doing okay and to see if there was anything they could help me with. You can find beaches, shopping centers, grocery stores, and gyms all within 10-15 mins of this location. They allowed me the option of a weekly maid (with an extra fee) and it made ALL the difference! The maid is phenomenal as well, it is a great feeling getting home from work to find that all of your dishes have been washed, trash is out, and your studio spotless. Elizabeth and Terry are truly good people.

Studio was clean and nice. Location was remote and for some reason I thought walking distance to beach or bay. The only complaint sliding glass door need better lock didn’t seem secure enough for me and screen needs replaced.

The room was very comfortable with an excellent bathroom/shower and small kitchen. The location is high on the hill under lots of shade and a nice breeze most of the day/night which made the temperature very comfortable.
I had to work some and the internet connection was fast enough for video and anything else I needed.
The morning I left I woke up early and hiked the trail across the street to catch the morning sunrise over Kaneohe Bay, it was beautiful!

We were truly lucky to find this jewel on Oahu for the holidays! Terry and Liz were wonderful hosts and they have attended to every detail to make this a one of a kind listing. It’s a quiet paradise tucked under a magical Monkey Pod tree, on a hillside overlooking the bay. We enjoyed having coffee outside listening to the birds and breezes high in the forest canopy. The newly remodeled accommodation is comfortable and well-appointed with new furnishings and linens. This central location, away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu, is a perfect base to explore all areas of the island (35 minutes to Waikiki, Honolulu, or Pearl Harbor; one hour to Makaha Beach on the West side; and one hour to Turtle Bay or the North shore).
