The cottage was perfect for the two of us. We were concerned about no air but had no issue at this time of year sleeping.
We so enjoyed the proximity to the beach and town and use of the chairs and boogie boards.
We will be back to this gem of a cottage.

This was our 5th time to Hanalei and first time at Ilena’s cottage. It was a perfect location and perfect size for 2 adult couples. The kitchen was well-equipped making meals at the cottage easy. Will definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely 10-day stay at this cottage, located just a short walk from our favorite beach, Hanalei Bay. The house was very nicely decorated, clean and well-maintained. Communication with the owner and the local housekeeper was easy when we had a minor issue with an alarm that we couldn't identify (it was the fridge left ajar).I would definitely try to book this property again.

Ileina's Cottage was the PERFECT home base to explore Hanalei - and this has been my favorite VRBO during all of my visits to Kauai, by far. My adult daughter and I appreciated how close we were to all the Hanalei restaurants and shops, while also being within walking distance to the beach. The cottage was clean and well-stocked, and the owner and on-island contact were both so kind and extremely responsive. The cottage stays nice and cool with all the windows and fans, so future guests shouldn't be concerned about not having AC. I highly recommend staying here - you won't be disappointed!

The house was clean, and well appointed; everything that you could possibly want was there. Staying in this beautiful house, just a short stroll to the beach, and in walking distance to shopping for groceries, fresh seafood, restaurants, farmer's market, etc., what more could you possibly want?

What a wonderful place! Plenty of room for my family of 4… fully stocked kitchen, front door to beach is a 7 minute walk, clean, great shower, comfy beds.

We loved everything about this cottage! The lush gardens, lanai /front porch, and most especially the location. A short walk takes you to the beach or in to the sweet town of Hanalei. Hanalei Bay has a wonderful beach, ideal for long walks, surfing, swimming, and evening sunsets. The beach chairs, umbrella, and cooler were much appreciated! The cottage is quaint and spacious, perfectly maintained. We took advantage of the close proximity to hike the Kalalau Trail in Ha'ena State Park. Waimea Canyon is spectacular and definitely well worth the drive, as is Polihale State Park. We happened upon the charming town of Hanapepe on one of our return trips. We were happy to have had plenty of days to explore the island as well as relax in Hanalei. We are grateful for our time spent at your lovely property, thank you Elayne and Hilary!

We loved this little house. GREAT location and so cute. Everything was clean and the owner and property manager were super responsive. The beds were comfortable, the property was quiet, the house was well stocked and just two blocks from town. Super cozy, wished we had a lot longer to stay...

Our little group spent a wonderful week at this cute cottage. We especially enjoyed the big, open living space, as well as the large lanai and well kept grounds. The outdoor shower is a nice touch, especially after a surf. Mahalo!
