Just steps from the water, Aloha Cottages are the quintessential oceanfront accommodations - comfy furniture, wide plank wood floors, warm salt air breezes, and ocean views to soothe the soul. The front porch of Sunrise Cottage is a favorite spot for watching the ocean's changing moods (and whales during winter months). A blend of east coast Cape Cod and early Hawaiian-style homes, our vintage cottages are spacious and light with simple furnishings - everything you will need for a relaxing, rejuvenating Kauai get-away.
PROPERTY DETAILS
THE INTERIOR: French doors and large picture windows in the living/dining room of the main house afford panoramic ocean views. Two of the three bedrooms have queen-size beds and the same unforgettable ocean view. The third bedroom, furnished with two twin beds (optional King upon request), is a quiet retreat. Sunrise Cottage comfortably accommodates up to six people.
NEED MORE ROOM?? Add Moonrise Guest Cottage for another bedroom and bath to accommodate up to 2 more people, a total of up to 8 in both cottages (4 bedrooms/3 baths). Please contact me if you would like to include the guest cottage in your reservation and I will add it to your invoice to cover the rental fees ($1400 per week), taxes and cleaning ($250). Use both cottages together for a group of up to 8 friends or a multi-generational family gathering.
Recently remodeled Moonrise Guest Cottage has the charm of a bamboo canopy bed and peek-a-boo ocean view. The open, white interior is accented with soothing ocean blues for a fun, tropical ambience. A spacious food prep area (with refrigerator/freezer, coffeemaker, toaster, blender, microwave) is perfect for simple meals, along with the large outdoor stainless steel grill.
The beautifully remodeled kitchen of the main house offers gourmet cooks as well as microwavers a spectacular oceanview. The stainless steel countertop, checkerboard floor, and glassfront cabinets are reminiscent of vintage cottage decor. The upgraded appliances and granite-topped peninsula make it a cook's dream.
Both cottages are equipped with WiFi, flat-screen Smart TV and DVD player, all linens including beach towels, ceiling fans, down and faux-down bed pillows.
THE PATH: An exciting feature is the Seaside Walking and Biking Path that runs along the ocean, right past the property. Visitors enjoy the Path for exploring the coastline, past Kapaa Town, beaches and amazing ocean vistas. Kapaa has been voted one of America's 15 Prettiest Small Cities (Aug 2013) by Forbes Magazine, come and see why.
THE BEACH: Just in front of the cottage, less than 30 steps across the front lawn, is the soft sand and warm waters of 'Baby Beach,' one of the safest swimming beaches on the island for small children. Here you can enjoy kayaking, snorkeling, or even SCUBA for lobster in season. The quiet waterfront vintage neighborhood is just a short stroll from Kapaa Town, with charming shops and restaurants.

Sunrise cottage has it all! Aside from the beautiful views and the great accommodation, its location is awesome for visiting west, south and north shores. We used the walking path daily and it was so convenient to visit eateries and sights in Kapaa. But the best part is the people and how responsive the host and property manager are when we have an issue. Thank-you for making our stay an unforgettable one. Mahola :)

The house is super cute and in a nice location. Floors and kitchen were a little dirtier than we expected. Loved sitting out on the lanai and front yard watching the sunrise and the bikers/walkers go by.

We enjoyed the location, cleanliness and roominess of Sunrise Cottage. The Moonrise Cottage was a big plus.
Kitchen had everything we needed, and the water sports equipment were an added plus!

Both my husband and I enjoyed the cottage. It was comfortable, well-stocked with things like knives, dishes, spices…everything one needs, even plastic glasses for the beach. The pedestrian/bike walkway to the left of the house goes for nearly 4 miles…maybe more. It’s easier to walk to the town of Kapa’a via this walk than to drive and find a parking spot. It’s no more than 1/4-1/2 mile to the Olympic Cafe and shops.
We had a lot of rainy weather so both times we went to Hanalei, it was raining and both times we got alerts on our phones warning of severe weather and that the bridge may be closed without notice. We didn’t miss not having AC in the house. It is well ventilated with the louvered windows throughout. The house is just as cute as the photos.

We can’t say enough about this. Wonderful home. Great location, great hosts. Perfect for the children to run around on the lawn. Perfect for the family to go fishing across the street or the children to go to the beach across the street. There are so many words that escape me to describe our time there.

We rented this house for a week and were totally blown away with its location and charm. The pictures do not lie. I rent a home every year for my son, daughter in law and two grandchildren. This is the first time we all said we'd like to do the same thing next year. We felt as though we landed in paradise, and not just because of the beautiful island of Kauai, but this amazing home as well. They seem to book up pretty quickly, as our first choice for next year was already booked. We are determined to make it work so we're back to the drawing board to find new dates. The homeowners have immense pride of ownership in their property and it shows.
