We booked this property a year in advance for a 60th birthday. Other friends booked another unit on property. The community is beautiful and location great.
Pros:
- View from unit is spectacular & location convenient to pool
- Fairly well appointed
- Comfortable beds
- Mosty clean upon check-in other than floors being slightly dirty and a drink cup from the pool with a cherry in the sink
- Comes with Hilton day passes
Cons:
- Communication with host was almost non-existent until 3 days prior to check-in. I thought I got scammed since our other friends received check-in info 1-week ahead.
- Received discrepant codes for both gate and condo in email vs PDF
- Asked for early check-in but wasn't ready when we got there. Fine. It also wasn't ready an hour AFTER check-in time when my other friend arrived. The host was cleaning it by herself. When my friend checked again to see if it was ready, the host was sitting on lanai on her computer
- Keypad on door didn't work. We were given one key in a lockbox to use between 3 people the whole week.
- Dishwasher was broken & smelled
- Keurig coffeemaker didn't work
- Fans/lights intermittently didn't work or turned on by themselves
- No ziploc bags or saran wrap, 1 roll of foil & paper towel s
After a verbal altercation with host while trying to open lockbox & being accused of taking her Amazon packages, we chose not to communicate any further or have anything fixed while we were there. These & other issues definitely affected our stay!

This place was WONDERFUL!!! Great location, AMAZING views!!! My only complaint was the lack of response from the host prior to arrival. I emailed through VRBO at least 3 separate times for the 4-5 days leading up to arrival and she never responded. Thankfully when we arrived, the employee at the resort checkin was able to reach the owner by phone, otherwise we would not have been able to access our unit. That said, I would stay here again because the place was PERFECT!

The location within Halii Kai couldn’t be better. Views of golf course , ocean and whales. Closest building to the pool complex. I’ve rented from Peggy for many years and each time I return to 12A it feels like my home. My 17 day stay over Christmas, shared with my family, couldn’t have been more enjoyable. Thank you Peggy!

Hali Kai #12 is located on the signature 6th hole of the Beach course which is a beautiful hole. The sunsets here every night were absolutely breathtaking and you have a panoramic view of them from the lani. The condo itself is exceptionally well equipped and you will lack for nothing. It is very nicely appointed with furniture and anything and everything you could possibly need for your time at the beach. For your time at the beach take a very short drive up the coast to Hapuna Beach, but it is best to get there in the mornings as it often gets crowded by early afternoon. For shopping we liked the Queens Shops best. The restaurant by the pool is very good. Great food and mixed drinks but the drinks cost almost the same as the meals. We will without question be coming back to Hali Kai and this unit. Thanks so much Peggy!

This rental was beautiful. We did have a rough start, I like other reviewers, was not able to use the access codes to get into the gate as the email had gone to my junk folder and once I found it, had an incorrect gate code. I attempted to contact the owner multiple times, but was not able to get a response until much later in the evening. Luckily, I was able to find an old email that went to my junk folder with a correct code and gain access, otherwise I don't think we would have been able to get into the condo that evening. I was also unaware that we would be responsible for an additional $25.00 charge per day at check in. I did not see this listed anywhere on the listing. I reached out to the owner and received no response. The rental itself is amazing. Beautiful views, everything you could possibly need for your trip, including full shampoo, conditioner and body washes, tons of beach gear, coolers, fully stocked kitchen including zip lock bags, condiments, all the little comforts of home. There are ten foot ceilings throughout and it makes everything feel huge. The beds were the most comfortable of any rental we've been in. Full size washer and dryer. We were in Hawaii for three weeks throughout the islands and this was by far our favorite rental. There is a nice pool as well and you are right by the clubhouse. Outside of difficulty contacting the owner (which could have been a real disaster) and the unannounced additional costs this is an amazing rental.

Our vacation was perfect! Hali’i Kai 12A is a luxury condo with stunning views and top notch amenities. Everything from the quality of the sheets, to the abundantly stocked kitchen to the to overflowing toy closet are beyond expectation. Peggy has thought of everything and has spared no expense to provide her guests with a beautiful vacation experience. She was easy to reach, friendly, and exceptionally helpful in meeting our every need. We are already planning our next visit! Thank you Peggy!!
