The property is located about 2-5 miles from Conde Nast's rated three 'Best Beaches' in the world, Kailua, Lanikai, and Waimanalo Beaches. Kailua is famous for its water sports and we can recommend places to purchase or rent the toys to help you stay in the water, like surfboards, kayaks, windsurfers, masks and snorkels, kitesurfing, wing foiling, and electric foiling gear.
Built in 2002, this standard 2 bedroom, 2 bath cottage has approximately 1300 sq. ft. of cozy indoor and airy outdoor living spaces - much larger than other 2 bedroom houses in Hawaii.
Master bedroom has a king bed and en suite bathroom, smart tv, ceiling fans, a/c, and a skylight. It has an en-suite bathroom with a large soak tub & shower.
The guest bedroom has a king bed, desk & chair, smart t.v., ceiling fans, and a/c.
The main bathroom has a tub & shower.
An open floor plan has a dining table that seats 4 comfortably with 2 seats at the large breakfast bar, elephant bamboo loveseat & 2 chairs, smart tv, a/c, 2 different & super fast WiFi systems, books and games.
The kitchen is lit by an overhead skylight, has a full size refrigerator, electric stove, dishwasher, garbage disposal and small appliances, e.g. coffee maker, toaster, blender. Stainless steel cookware, dinnerware set, and utensils provided.
The large lanai has a bar-height dining table that seats 4 to relax and enjoy the views, with additional seating on outdoor loveseats, a stainless steel gas grill for you to enjoy outdoor meals, overlooks the town and pool on the property, with great views of sunrises and moon rises over Lanikai Ridge every day.
There is a large 30x15 ft blue-tiled turtle pool with a slide for the adventurous.
There are lots of bath and beach towels available, and a change of linens.
The cottage is completely separated from the owner-occupied main house located on the same spacious property. The owners have one extremely friendly and cuddly hypoallergenic Goldendoodle that resides in the owner's house. The dog is gated in the pool patio area and is not allowed to access the guest house grounds.

***Please note*** The cottage is accessible only by stairs. The stairs start with 5 steps that lead to a 30 ft. landing, 4 steps that lead to a 10 ft. landing, then 12 steps that lead to the house. This unit is not recommended for guests with injury issues or the inability to walk upstairs.
***Renters will be issued a 30-day rental contract; however, you are not required to physically occupy for the entire 30 days. By state law, there is a 4-adult maximum capacity of the 2/2 house. No overnight guests and no changing of listed primary renters. If you have 6 adults, we do have an option to rent the Studio on the same property.

Outstanding stay! Having been raised in Kailua, I wanted to show my teenage boys my roots and stay in my hometown. Josh and Arlene were wonderful hosts, being very helpful
and answering all our needs but not intrusive at all. The rental is a single family unit on the same property as our hosts. It was clean, spacious, private, and has a wonderful view of Kailua and the Pacific. It is not a luxury unit but neither is the price. There was always a nice breeze being up on a hill above Enchanted Lakes. The unit was well equipped including a washer/dryer so you don't need to over pack! There are two TV's with cable. Internet access was kind of weak but may be better now as they just had new equipment installed. They have plenty of beach towels and boogie boards which my boys used every day. The lanai with a table and chairs was the perfect location for 'breakfast with a view'.
It is located is a quiet residential area about 2 miles from downtown Kailua, about a 10 minute drive the Kailua Beach Park. It is not walking distance for most. For your road trips to Honolulu and other places, the access to the Pali Highway and Kalanianaole Highway is excellent. There is plenty of street parking which is always at a premium in some Kailua locations.
Be warned that there are about 20-25 steps up to the unit from street level. It is lighted but I would suggest bringing flashlights if you are entering/exiting after dark.
In summary, I would highly recommend staying here. Mahalo to Josh and Arlene for a wonderful stay.

The property was exactly as it was described online. It was one of the nicer AirB&Bs, with all the comforts of home. Quiet neighborhood & beautiful overlook of the town from the deck. All the essentials for cooking on the barbecue and plenty of beach towels. Very well furnished. Close to nice beaches.

Arlene and Josh’s cottage is a great option for families with children. It has all the amenities you’ll need plus it is in a very quiet neighborhood. The lanai is spacious and has amazing views of the Enchanted Lakes area. Just perfect.

2 couples, ages ranging from 62-76 stayed at Josh and Arleen's property in Enchanted Lake for seven days in February. We found that the description and pictures matched perfectly. The place was clean, quiet, wifi excellent, views (especially in the mornings) spectacular. Plenty of room for both couples, everything we needed in the kitchen, plus books, great TVs with excellent reception. Not advertised but there were boogie boards, a small cooler, and beach chairs which were perfect for the times we spent at the nearby beaches. Easy to get around Oahu from here in a rental car. Rarely saw Josh or Arlene, but they were just a text away if we had needed anything.
The steps were not a problem for us, but consider them if you have problems with stairs.

This was a great place for me and my kids. There were enough beds for everyone, two bathrooms, plenty of kitchenware to cook with, board games, parking, and a washer and dryer. I was very happy with this place!
