Puamana is a classic development built in the 60's: low rise, beautifully planned, and well-maintained. Lots of open space with former estate restored and still on the grounds as our clubhouse. Every sunset is sensational - the clubhouse lanai overlooking the ocean is where you will want to be each evening.
Our place is a home - not a condominium or hotel room. It is very comfortable with an island feel, allowing you to enjoy casual living at its best. You will feel taken care of, and will be enjoying life in the midst a tropical paradise.
Our townhouse has all the conveniences of home, and best of all, it is located in the islands. Nicely furnished with that casual, easy going island feel, lanai, semi-private garden/yard and barbecue, so you can literally 'live outside' as much as you choose. Parking is available, with one space close to our townhouse. Public transportation is available to other areas of the island, with schedule limitations.
Lahaina, the former whaling village, is now a seaport/harbor. Lahaina is a center for activities so it continues to be a major attraction to the fun loving masses. Water sports of every kind are available here, and the town is packed full of dining establishments, shopping galore, a movie house, etc. Lahaina also attracts artists and those interested in their work.
This is definitely a hot spot, and the town center is a quick bike ride away. If walking, its 1.1 miles to Lahaina Harbor, a 20 minute walk with no elevation.
Puamana, on the other hand, is quiet and away from the crowds. That means you get the best of both worlds. This is a highly desirable location on Maui, and Puamana is the place to stay. Puamana is an historic development; one of a kind!

We stayed here over Christmas break (2022). The property was exactly as advertised. We liked the spacious loft for our teenager and tween. They had a lot of space up there. The check in instructions were very easy to follow (even in the dark!). Our host was very good about getting back to when we had question and he made sure that we got in ok. The townhouse was well stocked. There were plenty of kitchen supplies, bathroom supplies, and laundry detergent. We just had to buy our food. My kids enjoyed the boogie boards and my husband enjoyed the bike. The location was great, it was about a mile walk into town, which was definitely do-able. There is a great beach down the road on the way to town. The pools were nice and not crowded. The grounds of the community are beautiful. We would stay here again.

Puamana village is such a relaxed and beautiful place to hang out- whether watching whales in the morning or enjoying the sunset with snacks at the clubhouse overlooking the ocean - we had a wonderful time! You can go to a big fancy resort and get lost or you can come right here and feel at home!

My family had a great time at the cottage in December. The cottage was well equipped - especially in the kitchen. The Puamana community was well resourced as well. Kids loved playing in the ocean pool, which offered dramatic views of the ocean and sunset.
Walkability to downtown wasn’t as good as the listing suggested. However, the proximity to the main road/highway made it very convenient to zip around in our car without wasting valuable time in traffic.
The unit was mostly clean and well organized. Upon our arrival, the linens andh bedding in the master bedroom had a strong damp smell. The property owner was responsive and tried her best to resolve the issue - but ultimately remained unresolved during our stay. Knocking off one star for this issue.

Puamana is a magical place and this unit is very clean and comfortable, with everything you could want from a vacation home. The lanai is peaceful, and beach access and swimming pools are so close. Highly recommend!

Very comfortable, recently updated interior. The upstairs loft is huge and a great place for the teens to hang out/have their own place when not out boogie boarding or attempting to surf. Easy walk to town, another great teen activity!
Kitchen is fully stocked/functional. Lots of towels/amenities/outdoor equipment (bikes/rackets/beach towels/boogie board/cooler). Really, only pack clothes and sunscreen! Wash them at the unit so you don’t have more work to do when you come home :)
Most of Puamana is very eco friendly, so room A/Cs are on 6 hour timers in each area. No warm spots in cottage if you need winter simulation!

Staying here was like home and better. The condo was clean and comfortable. Our 19 year old grandson was able to have his own space upstairs with bed, tv and couch. He was also able to use the surfboard and surf right from the community.
We woke up every morning and sat on the porch outside with coffee. Then each grabbed a bike from the porch and headed to town for breakfast. We meandered through the shops and ended up on the beach. We were able to take surf lessons within biking distance from the condo. We also snorkeled close to our condo.
If you are looking for a place that you can call your own for a week or two, jump on this one. You will be pleased with the location and all this condo has to offer. Jim was very responsive for anything we had questions about. Enjoy

We had the best experience at this Puamana Cottage.
The communication was easy and comprehensive. The space is warm, well planned, and inviting.
We (Husband and I) stayed in the master on the mainfloor and our kiddo (9) had the loft. There was a bed to spare and we are definitely thinking about bringing a friend to come with us next time.
The community is pretty and well laid out. We tried all three pools and loved each of them. The bikes and beach gear were well used on our excursions. The location to Lahaina is amazing and we just had the best time there.
I cannot highly recommend this place or the host, Brian, enough. He even emailed to check in with a surf notice so we would be safe. He is the best!

We brought our kids to Maui for the first time and could not have picked a better place to stay. The room upstairs was perfect for our teen kids and the 2nd bathroom was certainly a bonus. The cottage is well equipped with all basic amenities. We enjoyed our coffee in the back, our walk into town, swimming and even tennis. The kids LOVED eating a mango that fell off the tree. We walked up and down Lahaina’s front street several times. The owners were quick to respond to any questions, incredibly helpful and had a very comfortable set up with easy instructions.
We will absolutely return to Maui and hope to stay here again.

Our family of four loved this property. The master bedroom and upstairs loft provided plenty of sleeping space, and we enjoyed eating on the lanai. The Puamana community is fabulous. We surfed the break every morning and evening and enjoyed body boarding and snorkeling as well. The Robinsons are excellent hosts, and we look forward to staying here again.
