Terrific location for the complex, centrally located between Lahaina, Wailea and Kahului airport. Azeka shopping area is close by for restaurants, shopping and sports stores.
The complex at Kauhale Makai' Villages by the Sea' offers a swimming pool, spa pool, kiddie pool, picnic area with gas-grill-BBQs, convenient and clean laundry facilities. It also has a putting green, volleyball court and shuffleboard. Tennis courts are next door to the complex. Great windsurfing is right off the beach from the complex. The lobby staff is helpful. Open Mon thru Sat from 10am to 4 pm and there is a night security staff.
The remolded kitchen is fully equipped. The bathroom is finished with Italian porcelain tile and all new fixtures. The bedroom has a high quality king-size bed, large TV, and a peaceful, romantic ambience. The living room has a new queen sofa sleeper. Watch the ocean, have breakfast or dinner on the lanai, stroll to the beach to watch the sun set over the Pacific.
This inviting ground floor unit is on the sunny, private, wind-protected south side of building, away from foot traffic, street and pool noise. Nice landscaping and partial view of the ocean from the lanai, easy access to your vehicle. Direct entry to the unit, no stairs or elevator, yet the location feels private and out of the way.

The apartment is on the ground floor of a building, but in a few steps, you are at the beach for a morning walk. Great location to explore the entire island. Sherry is very supportive, great communication, a great host. All the family hopes to come back again!

Had a great 2 week stay, the condo was clean, well stocked kitchen, however there was no toilet paper at all when we arrived at 11:00pm. Eric, the property manager did get us some in the morning early the next morning. Other condos we’ve stayed at had a basic starter kit which included toilet paper, paper towels and some cleaning supplies.
This did not spoil our experience here, they had a nice pool and barbecue areas, the grounds within the condo grounds were also well kept.
The only things that we would have liked was a better location, the sidewalks in the general area of this condos location were poor and the beach was a bit of a walk through sometimes swampy grass. This however is not the fault of the condo owner. We would consider staying here again.

The location is pretty central to many experiences we enjoyed. It’s got a pool and jacuzzi, but also beach access. It was a quiet, enjoyable place to return to after being gone during the day.
The condo had beach towels, chairs and a cooler which was so nice to have when exploring the different beaches. We enjoyed the different fresh fruits while in Maui and the condo even had knives that were sharp enough to process a pineapple!

Great location. Comfortable bed. Stocked with beach toys, chairs, etc. Would be nice to have a couple of coffee bags for coffee maker or tea - just to get through the first day. Loved it. Would recommend

We had no complaints with our stay in this condo. The AC blew cold, everything worked great. We loved that it was ground floor next to the parking lot for quick and easy loading/unloading every day. It’s a very short walk to the beach on the property, and in a great location for downtown Kihei (2 minutes away). Many beaches are a short drive away. The only complaints I saw about this property from other reviews, I can confirm. Yes, the toilet seat was a little loose, but didn’t bother us at all as was completely functional and clean. And yes, there were some bugs every now and then that we found in the condo, but this was actually a good sign. As we were on the ground floor with sliding glass patio doors, it makes sense that bugs would get it, but every bug we ever saw was dead. To us, that showed that they are taking great and effective measures for bug control. There wasn’t very many bugs that got in, and they were small and dead when we did find them. The bed was pretty comfy. There were plenty of kitchen appliances and tools. There were also many beach related items (umbrella, chairs, floats, ice chest, etc.). Couldn’t be happier, and would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay. The condo was equipped with all that was needed for a nice vacation (beach chairs, towels, kitchen spices and even a deck of playing cards). It was located near grocery stores, restaurants and small shops. The back patio was nice and quiet. If you take a walk down to beach behind building, wear your shoes or sandals as the beach is rocky (but a nice sunset).

Clean, very comfortable bed; kitchen very well equipped- even had some spices, oils and food wrapping paper.
The walk to the actual beach was a bit challenging for my sister (who has COPD); also the beach that is directly behind the resort is very rocky and not a particularly “nice” beach for lounging. BUT there are great beaches very close by.
The location is an easy drive in all directions for the many Maui things you will want to do.
If you plan to cook meals in the condo, I STRONGLY suggest you do a bit of meal planning before you get to Maui. It’s not that hard to bag up 1 cup of rice vs buying a whole pound bag at the Hawaiian prices!
Costco is right next to the airport )20 minutes away); main grocery store (Safeway) is about 2 miles away from the condo.
The Mill house country store (about 12 min away) sells local fruits & veggies at verty reasonable prices. It’s also had a garden, zip lining and restaurant ($$$) on the property.

We chose this condo because it had AC and the location in Kihei. The location was in a decent place and the condo had enough space for my wife and two boys and seemed to be pretty clean, that’s where the positives end.
We arrived in Maui at around 11:30am on Friday, since we couldn’t check into the condo until 3pm per the reception email instructions we decided to go have lunch and pick up some items from Costco. Upon arrival at 3pm we checked the email from the owner and noticed that we never received the pin for access to our room – we messaged the owner through the VRBO app and didn’t receive a response, then called and the call went to voicemail. Owner didn’t get back to us until about after 5pm with the code to the condo, which wouldn’t been so bad if we didn’t have food from Costco in our car! I understand that people can get busy, but I don’t get why you would send us a reception email without the code to the condo. This was just the beginning of a very stressful trip.
The first night in the condo I had to smash a roach in the bathroom while coming out of the shower. I didn’t think it was a big deal since I understand that we are on a tropical island and I know roaches live here. Shortly after, my wife was taking a bath, attempting to relax from our long travel day – a live roach jumped into the tub with her! All I heard was a scream and water sloshing around, I thought she slipped in the tub. We notified the condo owners and we were told that they would get someone out by possibly by Tuesday. The owners never followed back up with us letting us know if or what time their pest guy would show up, so we were left in limbo as far as knowing when this pest problem would be resolved.
Tuesday at around 3-4am the AC shut off on it’s own and my wife and I woke up in a sweat. We thought maybe it was on a timer or something as it turned back on by itself around 10am.
By Wednesday the roach kill count was up to 8 – we had another in the corner of our room and one was actually crawling around on our bed!!! The AC stopped completely at around 4:30pm and that lasted through the whole rest that day and all night. At this point we were fed up and I call the owners to find out if their pest guy ever came, since they never let us know from the initial request on the first day and also to let them know that now the AC is also not working.
