The Pono Kai Resort enjoys a fantastic location along the eastern coastline of Kauai, known as the coconut coast, because of the large palm trees that line the coast. From this central location on the island, visitors can easily explore Princeville to the north, Poipu to the south, and other hikes and trails on the island in a timely fashion.
Visitors staying at the Pono Kai Resort will enjoy an assortment of onsite activities such as the onsite pool and hot tub, lighted tennis courts and croquet lawn, shuffleboard, putting green, work-out room, BBQ facilities, and activity desk for booking on-island adventures. Absolutely beautiful condo. The owners did a fantastic job decorating!!! Ground floor, just steps to the ocean. So many shops and restaurants to walk to, and the bike path right in front. The owners outdid themselves with stocking the unit with so many wonderful extras. You felt the essence of aloha as soon as you entered. Only 2 things would have made it 110%, did not state that the washer and dryer were coin operated, and around the corner from the unit. And would have liked the guest room to have a queen size bed instead of a full. With 2 grown adults sharing is a bit tight. We used the sofa bed, which was very comfortable!

This place was spectacular. I would give it 10 out of tens. Everything we needed was there. It was beautiful and a close proximity to pretty much everything we needed. I would highly recommend this condo to all who want to visit Kapa'a

This property was very lovely. It was the most stocked condo we have ever rented. It was very clean and spacious. Walking distance to shops and some dining. The only issue we had was maintenance wasn't very helpful. The lights lights were out on the Lanai , so we weren't able to utilize it at night. We like to sit on the Lanai & eat dinner, play cards, etc and we couldn't do that due to no lighting. They had electric candles, but that was not effective for us. We reported the issue several times a day & it took until the last day to get addressed, which was disappointing.

This was our 2nd time staying in this condo and it was even better than the first.
It is within walking distance of lots of food options and centrally located for trips to either side of Kauai.
The condo is a delight and well appointed and didn't want for anything.

Highly recommend doing that. Nice to have downtown Kapaa so close by. Plenty of stores & restaurants to walk to. We can't wait for our next visit here!

We have visited Kauai 4 times, staying at Princeville on the north shore, Kekaha on the south shore, and at Kapaa where this unit is located. The unit was a great location both itself - 1st floor, facing the ocean - and in terms of getting easily around the island to Weimea Canyon, botanical gardens, and elsewhere. The unit was very quiet, with an excellent master bedroom, bath and rain shower. Communication with the owners was easy. There is a great paved walking path just out the door that runs along the ocean for several miles, and we enjoyed it twice daily. No complaints and we would happily visit this unit again.

This is one of our best vacations ever. We absolutely love the location, the unit, and everything about this beautiful island.
We highly recommend Pono Kai and particularly this condo to anyone not just for how perfect the location is, but for the condo itself. Beautiful, well appointed, super comfortable bed…. And that view. No words. We had such a great time, and can’t think Lena and Ivan enough.
