Studio located directly across the street from Magic Sands beach with renovated kitchen and bathroom. The bedroom is separated from the living/dining area by a wall with an arched opening. You will notice the small touches honoring the sea turtle throughout the unit which is why we call it Hale Honu or House of the Turtle. (THIS IS A NON-SMOKING UNIT IN A NON-SMOKING PROPERTY)

Your parking spot is conveniently a few steps from the front door. The complex is a small quaint 10 unit complex and is located directly across the street from Magic Sands Beach (Also known as Disappearing Sands Beach). This is a great swimming beach when it is calm. When there are waves it is only good for experienced swimmers. Early morning is best time to swim and see turtles at this beach. The complex also has a washer/dryer which accept smart phone payment through a convenient app with instructions in laundry area. Washer and Dryer are $2 per load.
The kitchen was recently remodeled and has brand new custom made Khaya (African Mahogany) cabinets. The bathroom was also remodeled with a nice size walk in shower with a shower head or body sprays.
There is periods between usually November and March in which the beach may have less sand than normal due to large swells that take the sand from the beach. Once the ocean clams down the sand gets redeposited on the beach over the course of a week or so. There is no way to predict what the status of the beach sand will be. When swimming at this beach or any beach in Hawaii you should listen to the lifeguards. When there is little or no sand the beach is much more dangerous.
There is a large front lawn off the lanai and you can watch the sunset from the lanai. You can see the water from the Lanai but cannot see the beach as we have Hibiscus hedges to provide privacy as the beach can get busy and the hedges provide privacy from people walking and driving by.
The unit accommodates a MAXIMUM OF 2 GUESTS ONLY. THERE IS ONE QUEEN BED ONLY AND SOFA IS NOT A SLEEPER. THERE IS NO AIR CONDITIONING There are two ceiling fans. This is a licensed Short-Term Vacation rental STVR-19-360605.

Fantastic White Sands Beach Location!
We really enjoyed our stay here in Kona, our first time to the big island! With easy access to the beach, this condo has a great kitchen, and almost everything we needed, except beach towels.
For Owner's Eyes: There are also a few deferred maintenance items that should be addressed, as well.
1- patio door handle needs tightening
2- bathroom sink draining very slowly
3- fan/light controllers may need new batteries (work intermittently)
4- beach umbrella spine hinge found broken
5- snorkel to mask strap holder found missing on the large mask
All of the above did not deminish THE GREAT TIME WE Had!!!

The apartment was clean and exactly as described. While there's no A/C, there are many fans and windows that made it easy to stay cool. The kitchen was well-equipped too.

The condo was exactly what I needed to live pretty simply in Kona for a couple weeks. The kitchen had all of the appliances I needed to cook a lot for myself and the airflow from the ocean kept the place nice and cool all day. There was an awesome beach and restaurant right across the street for when I wanted to get out too. The ocean was like a real life sound machine the nights I slept with the doors open which was pretty cool. Robert was extremely responsive and even checked in via text part way through the stay.

The property was not as clean as I would have liked, the floor had clearly not been mopped and there were a lot of dead bugs on the floor. There is also no AC in the unit so it is very warm. However, the owner is very responsive and the location is great, we really just used the place to sleep so 4/5 stars for sure.

This property at Kona White Sands was in a perfect location with easy asccess to all areas of Kona. Robert was very communicative and a great property manager. I enjoyed my stay and the location!
