This was a beautiful home. The views were wonderful, and the atmosphere was exactly what we wanted. While this does sleep six, be aware that you will have to double up in each bedroom.
The outdoor shower looks and sounds a bit weird, but ended up being one of our favorite parts of the stay!
There's no AC, and it was a little hot when we got there, but the cool sea breeze kept things quite comfortable once you opened up the doors and windows.
Over all the house was very clean, there were a few geckos in the house, but they were never a bother, just freaked out the girls.
The only real complaint is that it was a bit out of the way of things. It's at least a 10 minute drive to any place to eat or shop. Also the cliffs right behind the house are public and get. A LOT of traffic. It was never really a bother, but there were cars pulling in and out well into the AM. Usually pretty quiet, but there was one night they played music until around 1 AM. It wasn't enough yo really bother anyone, but it was audible.
All in all, it was beautiful and relaxing. We would highly reccomend if you're looking for some R&R and aren't worried about the seclusion.

We have stayed here several times. We like that it is easy to walk to the beach park and either go to Maku'u Point along Beach Road and Ala Heiau Road, or to Kaloli Point along Beach Road and Paradise Ala Kai.
The house itself is very room and airy, and we like the semi-outdoor shower: the doors add plenty of privacy, and you can get to it from inside. The upstairs shower is nice too, but doesn't have two shower heads.

Take note..we would definitely stay here again. Large home well appointed and generally very clean.
Pro's..listen to the ocean 24/7, although close to public access, we felt very safe here, and well away from tourist traffic.
Cons..its out there a bit, no stores nearby to grab the little things you forgot. Like I said earlier, generally very clean, but we found a big dead bug as we put our bags down when entering the property which taking into consideration where you are, its kind of to be expected. Would definitely stay here again in the future.

We loved hearing the Ocean every night. Walk from home to Makuu and Puna Trail for hiking. Walk out backyard to sit on lava with ocean views. Feel lucky to see whales and sea turtles from there. The entire home was perfect especially outdoor and walk in bathrooms. Mahalo Mele Kai.

The location of this place is great, we love this neighborhood. We first stayed here about 8 years ago. There have been some very nice upgrades to it since then. New mattress, couch, outdoor furniture and ceiling fans. Place was clean, plenty of starter products and toiletries that got us the 2 of us through the week. Sunrises from the lanai were fantastic. Definitely would stay here again.

The property more than met my expectations as I found myself saying wow a lot during our stay. Paradise Cliffs is just beyond the backyard. It was beautiful. HPP is a beautiful and strategic place to stay to explore all the wonderful places on the Hilo side of the island. There are lots of birds, lizards, & geckos all around the house & the geckos know how to get inside the house. Its cool. I hope to return again in the future.
