Welcome to Kaloli Sunrise by the Sea - Sleeps 5 with a Pool!
This beautiful home is the perfect quiet retreat or family vacation home. It is the perfect home base while you sight-see the Big Island! Centrally located in sunny Hawaiian Paradise Park subdivision between the towns of Kea’au and Pahoa, and only about 20 minutes SE of Hilo, you are convenient to all of the sights and sounds that the east side of the Big Island has to offer. From here, swimming and snorkeling at one of the many beach parks in Hilo is a 20-30 minute drive, and the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is only 45 minutes away.
Kaloli Sunrise has a beautiful grassy yard and mature, tropical landscaping. There are lots of coconut trees and even a huge avocado tree. There are shoreline access points nearby where you can sit and watch the whales during whale season! (NOTE: NO SWIMMING HERE PLEASE – STRONG, DANGEROUS RIPTIDES!)
Upstairs, you’ll find the living room, kitchen and two bedrooms. There are ocean views from every room here. The large kitchen has everything you could possibly need or want to cook up those delicious island meals. The upstairs lanai has outdoor dining for 6 and is the perfect place to have coffee in the mornings.
The master bedroom with ensuite bath features a gorgeous, Cal King elephant bamboo canopy bed and a cozy reading nook. The ensuite bath has a stand-up shower and large walk-in closet. The guest bedroom has a queen and extra-long twin beds. And the guest bath has a tub-shower combo with grab bars.

Our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 12-year olds) stayed at this lovely home for a week exploring the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii. The home was perfect for our needs. It was well-maintained, clean, comfortable and well-stocked. The kitchen had everything we needed to make meals. The bedrooms were spacious and we slept great to the sounds of the ocean and coqui frogs. We enjoyed swimming in the large, sparkling clean pool, especially during the morning hours when it received the most sun. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly. You can see amazing sunrises over the ocean just a short walk down the street. This home isn’t far from Hilo or Volcanoes National Park, but is about 2 hours from Kona. We had a couple excursions in Kona and also flew in and out of the Kona airport, but didn’t mind the scenic drive. Overall, we really enjoyed an authentic Hawaiian experience at Kaloli Sunrise by the Sea and would recommend to others. Thank you for a memorable stay in Hawaii!

The house was lovely and clean. It has everything you could want in the kitchen, the beds are comfortable, laundry is easy downstairs. The frogs, waves, and rain at night were all beautiful to hear. Loved being there. Thank you so much.

We loved the house and its location across from the ocean. The house was spacious, well, supplied and having a pool was an added bonus. The property managers from Hawaii Life Vacations were very helpful and communicative and made a special trip to fix the cable TV as soon as I informed them it was not working as well as replacing the blender. The location was also excellent for walking. Overall, I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to experience staying on the eastside of the Big Island.

This is a very nice property. Loved the view of Mauna Kea from the back of the house. Would have enjoyed this property much more if we had a garage door opener. Overall I would stay here again.

We really enjoyed our time on Paradise Ala Kai in this house. The bathrooms are superb and the kitchen is great. It is very peaceful but an easy drive to Pahoa or Hilo. There were a couple holes in the screens in the cupula so we had a couple geckos in the house with us. We enjoyed the frog noise but it could be overwhelming to some. Overall a great experience. Jolanta is very nice and responsive.

This could have been a really lovely stay, but several issues overshadowed the good points of this property.
Once we were through the Hilo airport, and had retrieved our luggage and rental car, and were finally ready for our 35 mile trip to the property. We arrived at 12:01a.m., just in time for all of the outside lights to switch off as we pulled into the driveway. There was no outside switch to turn them back on. They were on a timer. So there was no light, but thank God, there was light from the moon--not much, but it was something! We could make out that there was a long flight of stairs to get to the front door.
The stairs looked a little daunting because not only were there no lights, but there was no landing to break up the stairs. In other words, If you fell down the stairs, there was no landing to break your fall to the bottom of the stairs. The bottom of the stairs were either stone of concrete.
It would have been so much safer, if the outside lights had not been on a timer. Just let the guest turn them off after they arrive.
Once inside, we counted at least 6 burnt-out lights. There were also several light switches, that did not work. They switched nothing on or off.
In the master bathroom alone there were three burnt out light bulbs.
We went to bed, only to discover the next morning, that there was NO COFFEE...not even for one cup. Even motels provide enough coffee for your first cup of morning Joe.
We also found that there was no Kleenex or paper towels anywhere.
We noticed that there were not many dishes in the cabinets and the glasses that were there, looked pretty cloudy and dirty. We did discover clean dishes in the dishwasher, which we put away ourselves. We then put the dirty glasses that we discovered in the cabinets in the dishwasher.
We wanted to do laundry, but we saw that there was no light switch for the light over the 15 stairs leading to the basement where the machines were located. We later discovered that the light switch for the stairs was located at the bottom of the stairs behind a door, in another room in the basement.
Back upstairs we found the light switch for the second bedroom behind the bedroom door.
In short, we found that several of the light switches did not work or were in very strange places.
The outside pool furniture looked like it needed some serious TLC or it needed to be replaced.
However, the master bedroom had a great mattress and bed.
