The driveway was a bit tricky with a big vehicle, but if you backed it in, it was fine. The neighbourhood was excellent and very quiet at night. My friends and family had the best time we totally stay there again in the future.

Aloha! I hope you find some of this information helpful. We were lucky enough to stay at this property for four (4) weeks. We learned a lot.
THE HOUSE:
the house is exactly as described! It is beautiful and clean. The sun sets are amazing and fun to watch. There is a pool person who comes and a gardener who comes often. There is also a house keeper, who is wonderful, who will also come if your contract includes it. I would recommend it. I would also recommend tipping her a little extra. The house is larger than you think if you are planning on cleaning it and changing sheets. Delia, the housekeeper at the time of this review, is super helpful.
A note on the screens in the house. There are lots of screens so you can fully open the doors to let the air in. Just remember they are there, especially the front door screen… Both my son and father walked through one screen (which we could fix) just because you cannot really see them and it is easy to forget they are there.
The kitchen is pretty much fully stocked with plastic glasses ( because of the pool), dished and coffee pot. We asked for coffee, milk and eggs be in fridge for when we arrived and it was. The kitchen also has lots of dried herbs and spices if you decided to do some cooking, which we did some of while here.
The house is also pretty centrally located. There is a grocery and drug store about a mile down the road that carries everything you could need to get started on your Hawaii trip. But there are other places to get supplies if you are going to be here for longer than a week. For me I have personal preferences, like new pillows and sheets, not that the sheets and pillows were particularly bad, it is just a personal preference so I bought some at Costco, which is also on the island. But on the whole the house has everything you need to get started.
Geckos/bugs
This property does not have bugs or anything that is a bother but There are geckos on the property which are not a nusance. They are quite pretty to watch and they eat the bugs that could be flying around. Please don’t try to kill them. They are beneficial to the eco system around the house.
Runners/walkers
If you happen to be a runner or a morning walker you are gonna find the route a little challenging. When you leave the gated community there is a 12% grade either coming or going. If you turn right you are going up that grade, if you turn left you will have to come up it returning to the house.

We have stayed at this home many times because it is exactly what we need on the big island. It is close to any activities we want as well as restaurants and shopping. This neighborhood is filled with gorgeous well kept homes and the quiet we are looking for on vacation. The patio, pool, and outdoor living make for days where leaving home is not necessary. The kitchen is well equipped for any kind of cooking or grilling. The beds and furniture are comfortable. This house is perfect for 3 couples or your entire family!

This is our 6th time to the island and we have loved everywhere we have stayed, but location and comfort-wise, this was the best. As two couples, this house perfectly suited our needs, once one couple got used to leaving the house to the separate bedroom. The house was lovely, the beds comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. The lanai was perfect. You get sun or shade and the view of the whales and sunsets was incredible! It was so quiet there and made for a wonderful sleep! You could walk/run down the hill to busy Alii Drive. It was a short and not inconvenient drive to all the amenities. We were extremely comfortable and happy to spend a few days just hanging around the pool. I hope that we will be able to come back soon!

We always travel with another couple and rent condos as we enjoy cooking and our husbands like to BBQ. Staying at a private home was wonderful. Not having to share the beautiful pool and hot tub with other guest was a huge bonus. The kitchen was well stocked for our cooking needs. Our friends stayed in the bedroom in the house. Since you you need a key to get back in the house from the other 2 bedrooms, the first couple of mornings it felt strange but then we enjoyed having our own area we could retreat to. The view is awesome. We loved the large yard and comfortable lanai to sit and relax while watching the sunsets. Thank you for renting to us, we will be back again with our friends!!

The house was everything we read in the description and saw in the pictures PLUS!!!!! You can never get enough sunsets on the island and from this house they were breathtaking! We have been going over to Hawaii since 1987 and this was the best ever property. Everything was within range to get to. A grocery store, drug store, SHOPPING, the snorkeling beaches, the Marina for lunch and other restaurants! Sam Choy's for happy hour, Jackie Reyes for fish tacos, Poncho and Lefty's for breakfast!!!! Just to name a few. I will tell you Target is more expensive than Long's Drugs and is a lot closer to you. You can find just about anything there!
I am planning to go back in September! Yes, I am telling everyone and passing on the VRBO number to all!!!

My family has been going to the Big Island for 10-years. In the past we have stayed at a resort in Mauna Lani. This year, we wanted a home where we could enjoy a bit more quiet time and cook our own meals. After looking at several home options, we selected this one and could not be more happy. The home is situated in a gated community at the south end of Kona and is very well appointed with a modern kitchen, very comfortable bedding and lanai with pool and hot tub. One of our favorite things to do was sit outside and enjoy the tremendous ocean and sunset views. We intend to rent this home again and have recommended it to several friends.
