**The condo is already booked 37% in 2025. January, February and March 2025 are largely booked. Because of the fires, I've HEAVILY discounted some dates in 2025. Reserve your stay today before your dates are gone.**
**The condo complex is doing an elevator modernization project from roughly 3/31/2025 to 6/30/25. The elevator WILL NOT be useable during this time. My unit is up 3 short flights of stairs. RATES ARE HEAVILY DISCOUNTED DURING THIS TIME.**
**Hale Ono Loa Condos, the resorts at Ka'anapali, the Whalers Village, and Northward (i.e.,Honokowai, Kahana, Napili, Kapalau) were unaffected by the fires. The Old Lahaina Town is closed but the rest of West Maui including the beaches, shops, grocers and restaurants are all OPEN. Locals and businesses (and we vacation rental owners) are all appreciative of your business. **
**Airfares to Maui (and rental cars!) are DIRT CHEAP. Book your stay today.**
** Hale Ono Loa condos DO NOT have AC. But the trade breezes through the HaleOnoLoa407 are great.**
** In 2023, the condo was updated with en trend light grey paint and white trim, new white drapes, new lighting in the dining area and kitchen, new/modern coffee table, modern end tables and bedside tables, new fresh white bedside lamps, new side chair, new accessories, new patio table and 2 Adirondack style chair on the lanai. There are also added outlets for all of your chargers. **
Direct and expansive ocean views, a full view of the island of Lana'i, all the colors of the ocean, spectacular sunsets, beautiful swaying palm trees, views up and down the coastline and reef-surfing sea turtles are just a few of the daily sights you'll enjoy from this top floor, oceanfront condo located just past the resort community of Ka'anapali. Situated on the ocean side of Lower Honoapiilani Road, and just three units in from the shoreline, you will fall asleep and wake up to the soothing sounds of the ocean. You'll love the cool trade winds blowing right through the unit.
This renovated condo features an 18 foot balcony (aka lanai) overlooking the ocean, a full kitchen with custom sapele wood cabinetry, granite counter tops, an under mount sink, all stainless appliances, travertine marble tile floors throughout and Hawaii style furnishings. The chic, gut renovated bathroom has a custom sapele wood vanity, a granite counter top with an under mount sink, easy-to-step-in shower and ample storage. Clever pocket, sliding, louvered doors between the bedroom (with a king sized bed) and living area can be left open to feel the trade winds or closed for maximum privacy. Several updates have been made in 2022 and 2023 including new light grey paint, new lighting throughout and some new (less island-y!) furniture.
Though it may not seem like it, being on the top floor (level four), makes a difference view-wise and trade wind-wise. Other units on lower floors don't compare to HaleOnoLoa407.
Between roughly November and April from the private lanai or the communal sundeck, you will be treated to a spectacular sight of the annual humpback whale migration. These awesome creatures come to Maui from Alaska every year to give birth and one of their favorite locations to do so is right out front of the condo complex in the wide channel between West Maui and the islands of Lana'i and Moloka'i. In the peak months of January to March it's not uncommon to spot dozens of whales blowing and breaching directly ...

Beautiful ocean view, you can hear the waves crashing behind you. A nice deck, pool access, and even some gear in the room! Would highly recommend. Also, for Sabbath observers, it is possible to turn the fridge lights off.

The apartment was more like a huge studio with the master bedroom closed off by a sliding door. the location of the unit lets you hear the ocean from all sides. The views are incredible, the location is quiet (except for the sound of crashing waves), nearby beaches were great. The condo is well equipped with beach gear, and the kitchen very well outfitted. Steve was extremely responsive and had great recommendations. Only suggestion I have is that if someone in your group is planning to use the pull-out sofa bed, make sure you confirm there will be sheets for it when you check in. We had to have some delivered but again, Steve was on top of it and it was quickly resolved. Definitely would stay again.

We only scheduled four days in Maui and we regret not spending more time. Part of the reason are the many areas to visit on the island, but also because of this excellent condo.
The property was clean and located close to many beaches and activities. The views at sunset were amazing from the lanai and the tradewinds made the nights very comfortable and relaxing.
The property has many displaced Lahania residents living on property as well. This was great as we learned so much about the before, during and after of the devastating fire. Great conversation and excellent suggestoins on where to go for local food and how to avoid overcrowded tourist spots. Best part was a local resident who blew a conch shell each night at sunset and spoke an Hawaiian prayer. A cool experience.
Highly recommend this condo for rental. The description and pictures are very accurate and the communication with Steve has been the best I've experienced in renting condos through VRBO.

Steve has a wonderful condo on the waterfront in Maui
We absolutely loved it
Close to the things we love ❤️
Steve was an incredible host with information and a detailed guide with so many suggestions !
The bed was so comfortable the view was just spectacular and we felt so blessed to have found it ! Great little jazz bar in walking distance and local shops were very accessible! Falling asleep with the crashing of the waves was so lovely and we saw turtles right out the front where you can swim ⭐️thanks Steve and we will be back one day ! Mahola ❤️

The room was very clean and pleasant for a two-week stay. The elevator was supposed to be shut down for maintenance during our stay, but thankfully that was delayed for a later time. I could not imagine humping heavy suitcases and groceries up the three flights of steep stairs. Luggage carts are available, but they would be useless without an elevator. There was an issue with the sliding screen door sticking to the point it was frozen and would not move. We were able to get it closed, but it was a major job to go in and out without wrestling with it. Steve (owner) sent someone to take a look at it, but he was unable to fix it. Apparently Steve has arranged for its repair at some point in the future. The complex is old but well-maintained and pleasant. There are no umbrellas (probably because of the wind), so we didn't spend any time around the pool. Snorkeling sounds like a fun activity, but find a more suitable sandy beach for your watersports. We attempted swimming/snorkeling at the foot of the stairs below the property, but it was a big mistake. The surf is pretty heavy and the waves will throw you all over the reefs. I would have attached a picture of the injuries to my arm and knee, but it's pretty disgusting. The lesson is, at my age it's probably time to hang up the snorkel gear. Overall it was a really good stay. The absence of air conditioning was not really a problem because of the nice breeze and ocean exposure. We would stay here again.

Steve was wonderful from start to finish Couldn’t have asked for a better location. So close to everything. Walking distance to great food options from local popular restaurants to great food trucks. Even at nice park just down the road with beach access. The pool and grounds were so relaxing and the unit was very nice and relaxing.

Honestly, this place is paradise. From the moment we walked through the door, we felt relaxed and knew we booked the right place. The condo is extremely clean and furnished beautifully (with updated furniture vs. what's in the listing photos). And there's no need to worry about the lack of AC, as the trade winds (when you have the balcony open with the screen doors + windows opened above the bed) very quickly cool down the condo and ensure great airflow. You literally fall asleep to the sounds of the crashing waves - it's heaven. And during the day can go down the ocean steps and swim in the bay right outside of the complex with sea turtles not too far off! Also, it's about a 10 minute walk to a supermarket with fresh supplies, an ABC store, and a massage spa (which I highly recommend). Will definitely be back. Thank you Steve for such a perfect stay!

This place was the perfect spot for us. As stated in the description, it is not a 5 star resort. But what it is, is a great condo in a fantanstic location, with amazing views, where you can feel at home. Oh, and turtle sightings from the deck!! The owner gets super kudos for responsiveness and making sure that you have everything you need. In short, we loved our stay here and would recommend it to others who are looking for this kind of experience.

My husband and I got married in 2020 we never got to do a honeymoon but my father gifted us to go to Maui to experience our honeymoon and we chose this place to stay which I loved so homey and to wake up to the ocean right outside of our balcony was amazing

We have been coming to Maui for many years and have previously enjoyed staying at Hale Ono Loa. The location is wonderful for exploring the west side of the island and has convenient grocery shopping and restaurants. It’s a short drive to Whalers Village or Kapalua and there is a bus stop a five minute walk away. This particular unit was even more than we expected. To begin with, the view is spectacular! Sunrise, sunset and any time in between, the lanai begs you just to sit, breathe, and take it all in! The condo’s interior is comfortable and beautifully decorated. It’s kitchen has all you would need to prepare your own meals if you choose to do so. The host was exceptional. He provided clear directions for checking in and offered good advice for an enjoyable visit. Communication rates an A+
Already looking forward to our next stay!

We decided to stay in West Maui to spread some tourist dollars in the area. We had lived on Oahu years ago and hadn't been back to Maui since moving back to Seattle. Our host provided all kinds of info on local places to eat and shop, and we used many of them with much satisfaction.
This is a quiet top/4th floor unit that looks right out onto the island of Lanai. The area is fairly quiet, unlike the crazy hubbub of Kihei. Of course, there are numerous tourists in various condos, but also permanent residents and locals eating and shopping in the area. The unit is in an older condo development, but it is comfortable, well furnished, has all the conveniences, and every small appliance imaginable.
Just one detraction for us was the TV system, Vizio. It takes a few minutes to load up and, and in spite of "emergency" instruction from our host, we were never able to get live TV, only streaming. We limped along with Prime but were still happy in our comfy condo (great bed!) in several days of severe wind advisories that kept our toes out of both the Pacific and the pool. Thanks to Steve, our host, for the relaxing 6 days!
Note: Many Lahaina businesses remain open, such as Safeway and ABC.

My husband and I had an incredible stay and Steve’s place was the perfect relaxing spot for our week in West Maui! The view from the Lanai is amazing - saw many whales and sea turtles during our stay. We loved falling asleep with the screen door open listening to the sounds of waves hitting the coast. We enjoyed the coffee maker and watching beautiful sunsets at night. Overall great location! The recommendations provided by Steve were really helpful too for planning our trip! Wish we could have stayed longer!

You will fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing just steps away every evening. This condo is nicely updated with a fully appointed kitchen (with dishwasher) and cozy furnishings. The ocean view is phenomenal from the lanai, which hosts a basic patio dining set. Great spot for whale watching (there are binoculars in the condo).
The complex itself is a bit dated - this isn't a luxury resort. We saw 2 units: this one was very nicely remodeled inside, and fully protected from street noise due to the prime location in the building. Between the cross-breeze from the screen doors and an overhead fan, the lack of A/C was never a problem. The PIN code lock was super convenient and made check in easy.
The shared sun deck is large and not crowded. The pool is up to 9ft deep and great for cooling off, surrounded by plenty of chairs and tables (but no shade or umbrellas), as well as 2 large gas grills. The shared coin laundry facilities are fine and parking in the lot with a permit was always available. The unit includes some basic gear like a few beach towels and a couple of folding chairs for your day trips.
You are a 10 minute walk from a small local beach park that was quiet and offered shade, or a 10 minute drive from numerous larger beaches that draw a tourist crowd. There are plenty of restaurants, gear shops, and grocery stores around.
