DUE TO OUR AGE & MEDICAL HISTORY WE ARE ONLY ACCEPTING FULLY COVID 19 VACCINATED GUESTS! We have both had 3 shots of the Phizer vaccine, wear masks when in public and have kept our little coffee farm a safe place. We will not accept quarantined visitors.

When the threat of Covid 19 first became evident in early 2020 we quit accepting guests. We started welcoming guests back in the beginning of October 2021 and we have welcomed vaccinated visitors since then.

We prefer guests stay for a minimum of 3 nights, maximum of 10 nights.

Downstairs bedroom with private bath, dressing area and kitchenette on small working Kona Coffee Farm. Private covered lanai with ocean view through the coffee trees. Off street private parking space. Nicely set up with all you need to enjoy your Kona Stay. Very comfortable California king size bed, full sized refrigerator with ice maker. Washer dryer available. Owner's live on upper floor year around. 1300 ft. elevation on the side of Mauna Loa for very pleasant weather. In the summertime we are about 8 or 10 degrees cooler than downtown Kailua-Kona with temps in the 70s to low 80s with a gentle breeze almost all the time.

We are on high quality County water that is totally safe and also tastes great. Some homes in the area do not have County water and use rain water collected from their roofs.

Located about a 1/2 mile from all the amenities of the small town of Captain Cook. The Coffee Shack Restaurant, Post Office, Choicemart grocery store, several more restaurants, Ace hardware, fire station, police barracks, service station and more. We are just far enough off the Mamalahoa Highway so as not to hear traffic noise.

Short drive to great snorkeling, Puuhonua O Honaunau Place of Refuge National Park, Kealakekua Bay with the Monument to Captain Cook.

We grow coffee, avocados, mangos, papayas, kabocha squash, lilikoi and meyer lemons and more all on our acre. We will share with you whatever is growing and you may pick.

We have a few reviews since we have just started on VRBO. Following are some comments from people who have stayed here already:

Kim L.: "I just spent a week with my daughter in this beautiful ohana, located in the middle of a coffee farm. The property is gorgeous! We had views of the ocean and the Captain Cook valley from our deck. We were surrounded by coffee, banana and papaya trees. I especially loved hearing the coquis (frogs) each night. The ohana was very well stocked with everything we needed to cook meals and we slept so well in the comfortable king bed. The owners, Randy and Cheryl, are very nice and helped us find fantastic local restaurants, beaches and sites to see. I would definitely come back. "

Hali P. : "I just recently stayed in the Ohana for a week. It was a lovely space with coffee trees and tropical flowers surrounding the property. The place is well decorated and comfortable. Over all I had a lovely experience. I will definitely be coming back to stay! :)"

Patti M. : "I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Randy and Cheryl's Try Wait Coffee Farm. I was really happy with the location, so easily accessible without any of those steep narrow driveways I have experienced in the area. It made the perfect home base from which to explore.
It is a beautiful tranquil setting amid coffee trees and lush tropical vegetation with a sweeping view of the coastline. Their coffee is ...
