Paradise Bluff is a beautiful home perched on the cliffs of the small seaside town of Laupahoehoe. Relax, take a deep breath, and enjoy the Aloha spirit and traditions of the Big Island of Hawaii. Located on the spectacular Hamakua Coast between Hilo and Waimea, Paradise Bluff spans 288 ft. of coastline and overlooks historical Laupahoehoe Point. The sweeping 180-degree views of the Pacific Ocean, tropical gardens, and private decks all combine to make a uniquely-breathtaking retreat. You may use this awesome home as a convenient jumping-off point to many of the famous Big Island sites, or you may simply choose to escape from it all, relax on the lanais, and enjoy the exotic birds, crashing blue surf, swaying palm trees, and rainbow-colored geckos. Paradise Bluff is a destination in itself.
Paradise Bluff features a luxurious top floor Master suite, complete with a king sized bed, wall-mounted flat screen TV, large walk-in shower (with two shower heads), elegant ”spa-like” bathroom, coffee station and fridge, private deck, and an oversized dressing room. The bedroom's vaulted ceilings and ceiling fan help circulate the ocean breezes. The huge sun deck allows for private sunbathing with spectacular views of Laupahoehoe Point in the distance. A unique spiral staircase connects the top floor with the main floor.
The spacious main floor has a newly-remodeled kitchen with island bar, separate dining room, large living room, utility/laundry room, and two more bedrooms with king sized beds, flat screen TV's and beautiful en-suite bathrooms with showers. The large dining room has a vaulted ceiling and a solid mango table that seats six.
Two more decks (one covered and one sun deck) are located off the living room. The covered wrap-around deck has an elegant teak dining table for six. Step down to the smaller lower deck to find the Weber gas grill and a chaise lounge for sun-bathing. All the decks are newly tiled and overlook the water; it really feels like you’re living in the Presidential Suite on the forward bow of a cruise ship – without the crowds and buffets!
Laupahoehoe is a small town with its roots in the sugar-industry. Today, it has a beautiful beach park, post-office, police station, one restaurant, Train Museum, and a fantastic open-air eight-lane public swimming pool (with lifeguard) that is free to the public. Just a few minutes away is the recently-renovated 100 year old Papaaloa Country Store and Café with its a fabulous bakery, sandwiches, and burgers, along with a wide selection of groceries and fresh produce.
About 20 minutes’ drive north is Honokaa Town, the gateway to famed Waipio Valley. Honokaa has several good shops and restaurants and a wonderful FirstFriday art and shop walk the first Friday of every month. Hilo, 35 minutes to the south and Waimea, 45 minutes to the northwest, both provide a variety of restaurants, shops, nightlife and unique local attractions like zip-lining, botanical gardens, and farmer's markets. One hour west of Paradise Bluff is the famous Hapuna Beach and several world-class beach resorts with great golf courses.
This is a Hawaii County licensed short term rental.

This home is beautiful inside and out. They have provided very comfortable furnishings and beds. We loved watching the sunrise each morning and felt very comfortable during our visit. Lots of outlets, places to put clothes and bags, great kitchen and laundry room. The only thing that wasn’t ideal was there was no AC unit in the third bedroom. But, the wind provided a nice breeze so it wasn’t horrible.
We will definitely stay here again.

The view is as amazing as the photos! Probably the best VRBO that we’ve stayed in…would love to stay there again! Note: it is a 1-1/2 hr drive to Kona…we didn’t care.

First words out of my brides mouth when she got to the top of the stairs was, "Babe, you done good. Oh my God this is amazing." It was the perfect place to spent our week on the Big Island. We love this side of the island and the ability to be so far north and still be within 20 min of Hilo was fantastic. We loved the views and the home. My now wife wants to go back without the kids to enjoy this property all over just the two of us again. Hopefully not during the rainy season as much and for a longer stay if they do a longer term stay rate. It was breathtaking and I wouldn't have traded it for the world. It would be a home I wish I owned or one like it here on the Big Island.

We stayed here in May for 7 nights. The house was great with great views of the coast and Pacific Ocean. In fact, the backyard to this house is the Pacific ocean. The house was very clean and the beds were comfortable. Each bedroom has their own bathroom. There is parking off the road but it's a little tight for more than two cars but for one car is fine. The location is great. Very quiet neighborhood and only 30 miles north of Hilo. The only complaint is for the shower in the front downstairs bedroom, it needs to be updated like the rest of the two bathroom showers. We had a great time and would highly recommend the Paradise Bluff house as a home base to explore the Big Island.

Generally, we enjoyed the property. The place had everything we needed except for some cleanliness issues. One of the pillow covers had a makeup stain on it (didn’t use it). A sheet in one of the bedrooms also had a brown stain. There was a dead spider and a dead ant on the pillow area of two bedrooms. We weren’t sure if the beddings were fully washed before we checked in.
You have most cookingware in the kitchen with beach towels available (thank you!) for use. However, not that many towels were available for our three night stay. They were upfront about not replacing the towels during our stay before check-in. But no one wants to bring extra towels with them from home when paying that much. So we used the washer and dryer once.
The main bedroom is extremely spacious with a great view but the house can be can become very hot for some people without a proper A/C system.
Our grill night with the wonderful view had to be rescheduled due to a power outage in one of the evenings. The property manager was prompt to respond. We did get a partial refund for the inconvenience. Yet, it didn’t make up some of the time we lost. Upon our arrival, we didn’t receive a respond about wifi info until the next evening. So, we had to check the modems and routers around the house until we found an info booklet that was placed on top of one of the furnitures. It would have been nice if the info was provided as part of the check-in instructions. And there are A LOT of mosquitoes!!!

The property was gorgeous and the house was beautiful and accommodating. The only issues we had were the TV's did not connect to the network properly to stream and the fire alarm went off mistakenly while we were napping. Apparently that is something that happens often as they have a stick available to turn them off and a note about it in the welcome book. I would suggest to make it a more pleasant stay (since you require guests to remove their shoes before entering) that you offer slippers (can be the inexpensive type hotels often make available) for your guests and a coat rack at the front door. Otherwise, it was a very nice stay for us. The local restaurant/bar was awesome (incredible food and drinks), but only open one day during our stay. The small market there was open multiple days but only had some of what you might need to stock up, and no coffee shop for some distance.

This property is probably the nicest one I’ve ever stayed at with a VRBO. The location is ideal If you’re looking to not be in all the hustle and bustle of the tourist locations. With a parking right in front of the house you’re able to get to all locations with relative ease. The view from the master bedroom is something you will think of long after you’ve left. For those of you that enjoy gardens and a manicured yard you won’t be disappointed on that front either. You’ll find yourself falling asleep and waking up to waves breaking on the rocks below the house. If your looking for other options / stop get this one!

What an incredible stay. The view made me feel like I was at the ends of the earth with the surrounding ocean views. And I saw 4 brilliant rainbows in the short time we were here on the ocean, it was just stunning. I took pictures and it was so colorful and beautiful it almost appeared fake. Pink, cotton candy clouds at sunset. Look, most of us can't afford to live in a house with a view like this, but man, it sure was nice to be able to live it for a few days. I would highly recommend this house to anyone who comes to the Big Island.

This was our third stay in 6 years in this majestic house. House, views, property, fruit trees - everything in this place is dreamy. The house was stocked with starter supplies of trash bags, paper towels, laundry detergent, soap, shampoo, etc. A Country store about a mile away has all essentials, groceries and delicious fresh food. The house is 30 min from Hilo, 1 hr from Hapuna beach. Highly recommend freshly made fried chicken at a gas station down the road. The gas station has a water refill station, which was a huge cost saver for us.

We had an amazing time at this home. In the past we've stayed at condos and usually choose the penthouse. To have this beautiful house all to ourselves with the incredible views was priceless. Communication was excellent with the Host! We had a minor issue and it was handled ASAP. Highly recommend this house! Some days we preferred to stay home vs explore the island as our views were superb.
