If you're coming to the volcanic archipelago known as Hawaii, chances are you'll want to spend as much time as possible in the water. If snorkeling is your thing, you'll have a long list of options in Kona. If you're inclined to go deeper, hook up with one of the quality diving operators on Kona and swim with spinner dolphins, tiger sharks, swordfish, and mantas. Historic downtown Kona is less than a mile away, with all the shops, restaurants, and bars it is famous for. You can walk or take the open-air Kona Trolley bus that stops at the top of the street every two hours from 9 am to 9 pm. Plus, you won't have to go far to swim, snorkel, or surf in the ocean directly in front of the home.

The house was wonderful and as advertised. Biggest things that made it four versus five stars are as follows: no blinds in the second bedroom upstairs, no direct route to the pool, pool was not heated, and no oven mitts. Otherwise it was wonderful and the photos did not do it justice! Also the “beach” down the street is just a lava rock formation that meets the ocean. It was still beautiful but not a place you can hang out at.

The disconnect of the 4th bedroom from the rest of the house was an inconvenience . The propane tanks were empty on our arrival and we had to find tools to change ourselves. Other than that it was an awesome place that we enjoyed greatly.

We rented this house (and the house in front of it) for a family reunion. The Pearl is a beautiful house and impeccably maintained - the description in their ad does not do it justice. The kids loved the giant pool with the volcano waterfall, and the "little" fourth bedroom that opens onto the pool actually has its own bathroom and kitchen!

WHAT a house--we all loved our stay here! One of our daughters lives across The Big Island and the rest of us flew from the Mainland for an all-family vacation. The porches, the pool area, the bedrooms, the bathrooms--everything was really wonderful.
All the furniture was comfy and extra nice, especially in the pool area and out on the beautiful screened porch off the main level and the covered porch on the top level. We enjoyed the ocean waves, the sunsets, and all playing in the enormous pool. The photos show the beauty of everything, but the sizes are much more generous than it appeared--we felt like the porches and pools were easily twice as big as we expected. The enormous waterfall by the pool and the hot tub and the tiki structure were all truly amazing and very special, even nicer than most hotels.
We had two parrots fly past. A mongoose appeared now and then by the fence. The doves, finches, and geckos all added to the color and the tropical setting.
We were even impressed by the refrigerator, which features a screen on the front that rotates paintings or can be used as a drawing screen--our granddaughter loved drawing on that and made one that said "We had so much fun."
All nine of us enjoyed the trip so much.

What a beautiful setting for our family of 9, who values their privacy yet wanted to be able to gather. We spent a lot of time in the pool and to the walkable rock beach together. Hearing the waves and being able to enjoy sunrise with a mountain and sunset on the water was an added touch. For future visitors, be forewarned of the amount of stairs required to enter the building (especially if you are packing heavy suitcases) - we put grandparents in our group on the lower level and main level. Thank you for such a perfect stay.

My son, grandson and I spent several days at Aloha Pearl. It was a very unusual house featuring many outdoor groupings to gather and view the ocean. We loved the pool, spa and in particular, the waterfall feature.

Celebrated our ten year anniversary here. They had the house perfect and clean. Had everything we needed. Close to amazing beaches. The pool was impeccable the Horus jets worked great. The birds singing, the waterfall, the sound of the waves from the upper deck at night. It was more than we could have imagined. The beach access was breathtaking. We could actually walk and touch the water. I did yoga every morning from the beach at the end of the driveway maybe 100 yards. We will be back!!

It was a first gathering with our children, their partners and our new grandson since the pandemic. The property was ideal for our family configuration. The outside space was particularly fabulous. (The one caution for folks is that if you have someone in your party that can’t navigate stairs, this isn’t the right property. In order to access the pool and to leave and enter the house, you have to manage a hefty set of outside stairs. There is a small suite at the pool level, but it’s isolated from everyone else in the main house.). We would definitely return here!
