Located in the center of Kona, sits this resort style condo with a bohemian feel, it has all the amenities on Alii drive. The condo has its own tidal pool to swim and snorkel and launch kayaks from when the waves are calm. Fishing from the shore is also allowed. A/c in livingroom and bedroom.
Beautifully landscaped and offers some of the best sunsets and ocean views. Our recently renovated condo/lanai sits directly facing the ocean. You can even sit inside on the couch and see the ocean from it, we make every attempt to NOT exaggerate the pictures. Relax with the pool, hot tub, ping pong or tennis. There is also a small library of shared books. The grounds itself is 5 stars... Think botanical garden.
The community BBQ grills are 20 feet from the ocean. Perfect placement! This unit has NO stairs to get to it, free parking and parking lot is 15 feet from the front door and condo is on ground floor. No stairs. .
Electric bike rental rack across the street and we are hoping the $2 trolley is back that picks up out in front of the condo. Internet search for most current info and schedule of trolley. It's less than 1 mile to the heart of Kona restaurants and bars, so walking is easily an option.
Need a coffee shop in the morning? Green Flash coffee is right next door.
King sized bed in bedroom, and it does have a pull out queen bed as well.

We spent most of our time outdoors as this is Hawaii and there is much to do. We are very active so even though the resort is 3Km from downtown it is a very easy walk for us. The place is very clean and Jeanette and Michael are available immediately if you have any questions.
The spectacular view from the lanais is nice to enjoy over breakfast or for a glass of wine at sunset. It is beautiful!

Enjoyed the stay! Host was great and clear with instructions. Place was in a perfect location with all the popular beaches and snorkeling areas nearby. Recommend for snorkelers and beach goers.

Had a great time! Condo has a great view of the lawn with pool and ocean beyond. Location is awesome with town just 5 min drive away. Couldn’t have asked for more for what we paid. No frills, but we didn’t spend much time in the condo anyways.

It was a wonderful stay at the Kona Makai. The place is as described with the wonderful ocean view. My only comment was that it was hard to open the door with the keys and Vrbo didn’t give me a gate code on the arrival instructions. I found that out on the property rules and guidelines once inside the property.

We had a wonderful time in Kona. The condo was a good size for the 2 of us. The bedroom and the living room each have an ac unit which is nice. The view from the living room and back lanai is nice of the gardens and the ocean. Owners were very responsive to any questions we had. We would stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here September 2024 for 4 nights. The property was as advertised and was an incredible location. About a mile walk to shops and restaurants - which was the perfect distance to be close to things, but not be right in the mix. We made the walk multiple times a day. The host was incredibly responsive and always helpful. Not to mention, the view from the lenai was amazing. We would happily stay here again!

The apartment was perfect for our stay in Kona. We loved the location close to shops and restaurants. The view from the balcony was amazing and perfect for watching sunset. It had everything we needed! Communication with the host was excellent. Highly recommend staying here!!

The property was perfect for us as we were looking for a place that made it easy for us to travel the west coast of the Big Island. The condo is not far from the downtown Kona area, parking was a breeze, and the condo was stocked with everything we could ever need. An extra bonus was being able to hop in the hot tub after hiking and snorkeling at the Captain Cook monument. We highly recommend this condo for the home base and amenities it provides!

Very much enjoyed my stay. Everything was exactly as described. I really liked the ground floor view framed by the beautiful landscaping. So convenient for getting to and from car. Kitchen had everything I needed and more, even a garlic press.
Many personal touches and decorations around the home. I've never had keys on a lanyard before, such a good idea - i didnt lose them once. :-)
Morning coffee on balcony and sunsets down at water were perfect.

We had a great stay at this property! Jeanette and Michael had great communication throughout the stay. The grounds are very well kept and peaceful, which allowed us to enjoy the stunning views from the lanai every morning and evening. The property is fully stocked with everything you need. The location of this vacation rental was great. The view of the ocean from the lanai was amazing. The place was cozy and comfortable. Had some issues with the kitchen sink. Heard water bubbling and there was an odor that didn’t smell good.. like black olives or something. The bathroom sink drained slowly. We looked for drain clog remover but couldn’t find any. Thank you

We enjoyed the best stay at the condo! It had everything we needed, was so clean, well taken care of, decorated adorable too, and the best were the fantastic views from the lanai! We enjoyed so many sunrises and beautiful sunsets. We think its the very best condo in the complex and we are so happy we stayed there! Michhael and Jeanette were great and answered all our questions with Aloha. We would stay here again! Mahalo !
