Kepuhi Beach Resort #1231 is a very private, studio-style condo that sits at the end of the villas complex with lovely views of the Pacific Ocean and Kaiaka Rock. Newly remodeled, this clean and breezy studio features a full kitchen, a nice couch to relax on after a day spent at the beach, a queen-size bed, and a tiled bathroom - all within a short walk of the resort's oceanfront pool, stainless steel gas grills, and the beautiful beach. Here at the end of Building 23, you'll enjoy unobstructed views from the lanai (including glimpses of whales in the winter), a flatscreen TV, and free WiFi throughout.
What's nearby:
Kepuhi Beach Resort is an oceanfront property on the west end of the island of Molokai, with grounds that include an oceanfront swimming pool, gas grills with picnic tables, and a sundry shop with trinkets and food to purchase. Right out front, on both sides of the old hotel, is Kepuhi Beach, which is great for surfing in the winter months, ideal for swimming and snorkeling come summer, and the site of many paddle races to Oahu. You'll also be a short stroll across the old golf course from Papohaku Beach, one of the longest beaches in the state of Hawaii with waters that are rough in the winter but calmer for ocean swimming in summer. Kepuhi Beach Resort is less than a mile from Make Horse and its many tidepools, seven miles northwest of the town of Maunaloa (the only town on the west end), and 20 miles west of Kaunakakai, where most grocery stores, art/gift shops, mini markets, restaurants, and equipment rentals are located.
This arid west side of Molokai, just 12 miles from the airport, is known for having less rain than the east side of the island. And the island-wide evening quiet hours make Molokai perfect for romance, families, solitude, and experiencing a glimpse of the real Hawaii away from the tourist crowds. Molokai is about entertaining yourselves, although Hotel Molokai on a Friday night is entertaining itself!
Things to know:
Free WiFi (but please note that WiFi can be spotty)

The unit was perfect EXCECT there was no internet or phone service. So we were off-line for three days. That was inconvenient.
Lee, the Vacasa representative, was wonderful to us.

poorly maintained unit; old stained formica in kitchen; I needed to purchase four light bulbs in order to see; window/door drapes didn't roll up or down; awesome location to get full open view of nearby beach;

You can hear the waves crashing while you sleep, very serene spot. The room is small but well arranged for its size. There were some basics in the kitchen like oil, coffee, tea, salt. The on site store is open every day - even on holidays, pricy but convenient. The place could be better cleaned - the red dust was on the floor and easy to miss since the floor is the same dark color. It ends up on your feet and anything that touches the floor. The furnishings and fridge are quite old, but it’s usable.

This was our 3rd stay at Kepuhi Beach, and unfortunately our normal unit was booked. The pictures on this looked good, and the reviews were fine so we booked this as one of our units for our family of 7. Our experience was rough from the start. Having stayed at Kepuhi Beach before, we sort of knew the lay of the land, but this building was so hard to find. No joke, we spent a good 20 minutes walking and driving around trying to find this unit. The buildings weren't in number order, and there was no map. We couldn't find any workers to help us in our search, and after 4 unanswered calls and texts to the number we were provided, we were quite frustrated. We finally found the unit, and unlike our other ones, this one doesn't have parking right outside. Not the biggest deal in the world, but with 2 toddlers, rolling suitcases, and a stroller, it wasn't the most ideal location on the complex. We knew there would be no air conditioning, but our other unit we'd stayed in had a screen door so you could leave your front door open at night and get the breeze flowing through the entire unit to cool it off. This one didn't have a screen, and there was a bright light right in front of the door making it hard to even open the window above the door. But the cleanliness was really the worst part of this unit. The refrigerator and freezer has a putrid smell, which kept us from wanting to put anything in it, and there were dead bug parts and blood (I'm guessing from bugs?) in the couch cushions. I love Molokai, and hope to come back some day, but only to stay in a different unit unfortunately. A new fridge, a map, and a deep clean would help this unit a lot.

We spent 6 nights here and really loved the view of the beach and the trade winds that would blow through the apartment. The apartment could use some updating (a full sized coffee maker would be great) but was perfect for us and very comfortable. We cooked quite a bit and there were plenty of kitchen items. The apartment is close to some amazing isolated beaches and the pool is very nice as well. We’d come back for sure!

If you want to be alone on one of the most beautiful beaches you have ever seen.. This is the place. It was amazing. The sunsets are amazing.. its awesome. That being said.. be prepared. There are like 2 restaurants on this whole island and they are not always open. The locals don't like non locals and there are to general stores for food that have specific hours. Be prepared to cook your own meals. Imagine a small town in Texas with like 100 people in it. Although this building is in great condition, some of the ones around it look run down. Don't be alarmed. It's just the way it is. It was hard to find the room because there is not a map of where it is located and rooms are not well indicated. So enjoy finding the room. lol. But really.. The place is amazing if you can deal with all those things and no AC. We will be going back.
