You'll be close to everything that Kauai's gorgeous North Shore has to offer - stunning beaches, great surf breaks, golf courses, and downtown Hanalei - at this newly constructed, garden-level apartment in Princeville. This space is beautifully furnished, ideally located, and perfect for beach-going families with children.
Just steps from the Princeville walking path, this ground-floor apartment sits on a piece of property that it shares with a main house occupied by a family with kids (guests have a separate entrance; the door to the main house remains locked). Every detail has been thought of - an outdoor shower, central air conditioning, a private washer/dryer, and garage storage for surfboards and other beach gear.
The living space is open and modern, with a sitting area that encircles a flatscreen cable TV. Also in this breezy great room are a sleek kitchen with stainless steel appliances (including a dishwasher), a peninsula bar counter with stools for four, and an adjacent circular dining table for four. Outside on the garden patio, you'll find a gas grill and a table for al fresco dining. There's a bedroom on either side of the living space - a primary bedroom with an en suite full bath and a second bedroom with an en suite half-bath and direct access to the outdoor shower.

I loved the Princeville location and amenities for our family vacation in gorgeous Kauai. Each evening we returned to the home covered in sand and mud from our adventurous activities and really appreciated the private outdoor shower, water hose, and garage with the washer/dryer. It was a pleasure to not have to drag wet, sandy clothes and towels through the house or walk a distance from a parking lot carrying sleepy kids. This was so much easier than a hotel or large condo complex. We were comfortable, the home was clean, and the kitchen was stocked to easily prepare meals. I would definitely return and would highly recommend to families with children. The lack of a bathtub might be a hassle for families with toddlers/infants. I would not recommend for two couples unless one couple is comfortable in a full size bed with 1/2 bath and outdoor shower only. The master bedroom has a king size bed, full bath with two sinks, and large shower (no tub). Foodland grocery store is a very short drive away, which we visited often. It was a vacation in paradise and this vacation home was nearly perfect!

The accommodation was very comfortable and had all the amenities we needed. We loved the outdoor shower - it was great to get all the remaining sand off outside, rather than track it into the unit. The neighborhood is quiet. There are kids upstairs, but there was very little noise and it didn't bother us. Would definitely stay here again!

Our family of three had a great time, enjoying the island of Kauai. The north side of the island is so relaxing and this spot made it easy for us to do all of our adventures and enjoy the local area The restaurants were great.

Pros: Nice property in nice neighborhood. Very new. Was very clean. Great desk in 2nd bedroom for office. Great internet. All the appliances and kitchen gear were fine. Bed was comfy.
Cons(nitpicks): If I stayed again i would bring my own Roku instead of having to sign in and out of the Roku TV as nothing was provided. No TV in master bedroom. Electrical switches everywhere with no labels. A cover for the outdoor furniture would be good as the birds like to perch on them and leave droppings. And as others have said it is part of a larger residence that has kids so there is some noise, but not a big issue.
If i were to stay on this part of the island again i would stay again.

Our family of six had 7 amazing days and nights in Kauai due in large part to our vacation rental at North Shore Obama Hale. It was super clean, quiet, and had all the amenities we needed for cooking our Costco meals and great space to enjoy eating together. The beach toys, chairs, and umbrella made our beach days super fun! Totally recommend this rental!

The North Shore Ohana Hale was the perfect place for my wife and our daughter and her husband to stay while visiting Kauai. We've stayed at several other rentals in the area and this one was by far the cleanest and nicest. Would definitely stay here again.

This property was located in the heart of Princeville and offered access to beaches as well as dining / grocery just a short distance away. The unit itself was sectioned off an existing house so be aware that you will be sharing a home with a resident family / owner. We could hear the children upstairs in the evenings and the walls are very thin so that is definitely something to consider if you think you're getting a property all to yourself. Finally, the unit lost power (there was a blackout in the neighborhood) and the groceries we had saved for dinner were completely wasted as there was no way to heat anything up without electricity or light of any kind. When I contacted the property management company for some sort of reimbursement given that we had to go buy dinner after already buying groceries I was told that this was outside of their control and no compensation would be given. This lack of customer service is unfortunate at this price point and I will not be renting from this site again.

Nice place, good beds, location etc. Would have been nice to have some basics in the cupboards such as salt and pepper and some cooking oil. I imagine everybody staying there having but the same thing in quantities that last well beyond their stay.
