Property was a complete nightmare! A homeless man was there 4/5 days and we checked out early on Day 6 because we couldn’t stand it anymore. The homeless man woke us in the middle of the night on Night 1, screaming profanity and yelling at 2:00 a.m. He continued to stay in front of the driveway that leads to this house (behind the another house that sits on the actual highway) and it was hard to come and go without hitting him, as he sometimes laid in the gutter, almost in the driveway. We found dog hair in the kitchen on Day 2, and the house was not clean. We tried contacting the owner, but on Day 3, we were only referred to a local person who didn’t get back to us until Day 5. We checked out early and didn’t stay until the scheduled check out day of Day 6 due to the homeless man and unsanitary conditions. The final straw was when we discovered maggots in the living room, and to our horror, they were crawling into the hallway and one of the bedrooms! Again we tried to contact the owner, and finally got a response, denying everything-saying there is not a homeless man and that we must have left food out, which is why we saw maggots. We explained that we only ate in the dining room, but the owner was not hearing our concerns. We decided to leave after not hearing back from them for 2 days. They refused to refund us the last night even though we checked out early. We had to pay for a room in Waikiki (and basically pay double) because we were sickened by the maggots. Worst VRBO
