Our private coffee estate is situated on the slopes of Mt. Hualalai on the Big Island of Hawaii. We are located in Holualoa, just 15 minutes from the Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport at Keahole, 10 minutes from the quaint coastal town of Kailua-Kona, 10 minutes from the artists’ village of Holualoa, and also 10 minutes from Costco! We are at a comfortable 1500' elevation in the Kona Coffee growing corridor.
Separate from the main house on the estate, we offer our 2 bedroom/1 full bathroom cottage, with covered lanai with BBQ, and table and chairs for outdoor dining. The property is gated with private off street parking for 2 cars. The cottage is nestled amongst tropical landscape, coffee and fruit trees, with ocean, harbor, and sunset views. You will enjoy a variety of birds, including hawks, parrots, owls, chickens, pheasants, small song birds, chirping coqui frogs, and green geckos. The cottage is perfect for 2 couples or a family of 4.
There is one queen bedroom, and a unique garage converted king bedroom that has the option to be opened to the outside with a secure roll down screen if you like. The king bed can be converted to 2 twins. The kitchen is fully equipped for your cooking enjoyment. There is high speed Wireless Internet, and 2 smart TV’s with free Netflix. There is one outside security camera by the front door.
All linens, bath and beach towels are provided, along with low and high beach chairs, beach umbrella, and coolers. There is a washer and dryer in the cottage for your use.
Enjoy the beautiful ocean, harbor and sunset views from the house and lanai. Smoking permitted outside only.
Please note, the outside designated areas for the cottage are the driveway parking area, a covered 10’x20’ cement lanai with table, chairs and BBQ, and gravel areas lined by landscape. There are no play areas with grass. There is a tangerine tree off the lanai that produces in winter months.
We do have 3 cats, and 1 may come to visit if you like, but they are not allowed inside the cottage. Our son’s sweet dog, Meli comes to visit on occasion, and will more than likely come to visit you too. You may see some wild pigs on the other side of the fence. They aren’t friendly. You will occasionally see a green gecko in the house. Don’t be alarmed. They are friendly, and just checking on bugs, or any uncovered food you’ve left out, especially fruit. Hence, wipe counters, and put food like that in the refrigerator.
This accommodation is an extension of our estate’s pride of ownership. We want you to make yourselves at home and treat it with the respect you would your own.
Kailua-Kona has several world renowned events, including the Ironman World Championship Triathlon in October, and the International Billfishing Tournament in August, along with ongoing outdoor athletic events. There is lots to do on the Big Island. You can fish, surf, snorkel, scuba dive, kayak, swim with the manta rays and dolphins, golf, see a volcano, hike, bike, and star gazing.

Lovely secluded spot in semi-rural residential area less than 10 minutes from downtown Kona. The immaculate cottage is spacious and very well provisioned - everything from beach chairs, swim noodles, and coolers to a well-equipped kitchen. Overlooks a wide section of the Kona coast, so offers some very nice sunset views from the lanai. Owners are readily available and communicative. Peaceful spot immersed in the natural world - lots of bird life, frog life, wild nesting hen, geckos. Highly recommended. Not your typical rental.

Our stay was excellent at the Kona Coffee Cottage. The cottage, the location and the communication with the owner were all great so it was all as advertised and if we were ever in Kona in the future, we would certainly try to stay here again!

I have rented VRBO’s for 16 years on Hawaii Island. My two favorites reverted back to private residence. After hopping around I have found the perfect property.
I have done the work staying for 16 years. You will not find a better property or location. The house is beautifully appointed and the location perfect. There is nothing here that will disappoint you.

Extremely clean with a decent view and distance from town. Every kitchen tool you could want. We thought we were the first ones to stay there, it was that clean. We spent the first night discussing amongst ourselves at the thought put into both the construction of the house and the time taken to decorate and label everything, we took notes but lost them. None of the four of us (including HVAC and building maintenance experience) had ever been in a rental with such care given to every aspect. The beds were better than our own, the cupboards and shower head seemed placed purposely high for us tall midwesterners. The coffee provided was some of the best we ever had. 10/10.
