Less than 200 feet from shoreline.....And some of the *only* shoreline that features a small beach, tide pools and ocean side lawns complete with loungers!
Island owners' personal seaside getaway with ocean views from the sofa, bed and balcony.
Beautifully maintained unit--Complete renovation in late 2012. Latest “Upgrade” —October, 2021.
Stylishly appointed, this 4 room studio suite (478sq.ft.) was designed with comfort foremost in mind. Commodious seating, 550+TC pima cotton bedding, a Simmon's Cal-King mattress (w/Nova foam topper!) and quality bath linens are just a few of the “upscale” amenities. The cool blue and stone colored walls compliment the contemporary furnishings, clean lines, hardwoods, bamboo flooring and oriental carpets. Waves play in the floor to ceiling beveled mirror wall panel. The South Pacific (w/Asian influence) art found throughout the apartment lends an exotic air to the décor.
The same care to detail is shown throughout the rest of the suite. An oriental folding privacy screen placed in front of the opened door (heavy high security screen door w/serious lock) gives you air flow on 3 sides~~ah, those island breezes. This is rare in a condo. Combined with the efficient ceiling fan, you’ll find little need for the air-con. Of course, air con is available at all times.
Settle in on the super comfy Italian love-seat, put your feet up on the ottoman and watch a little NETFLIX (on the "Smart TV") on those "stay-in" evenings. AFTER you catch the sunset!
Location:
'The Kona Bali Kai'. Midway down Ali'i Drive is famous surf spot 'Banyans' (your view, as pictured in the slide show), adjacent to the Kona Bali Kai main building. (2 miles north to 'Restaurant Row' and the Village, 3 miles south to Keahou Bay and less than a mile to “Magic Sands” beach.) Across and just south from the main building, 12 unit 'Building 3' is easily accessed and has a 'laid back' feeling not usually associated with condos. The unit is on the slightly elevated (10 ft. above sea level) first floor (easy access and GOOD VIEWS OF OCEAN *OVER* 2 LANE ALI'I DRIVE). Private residences on the north and east, a 'Mom and Pop' style market (w/ spirits) on the south and the Pacific Ocean to your west.

First I want to say that property on the ocean tend to have rust and mineralization that is normal. You really cannot escape the rust as it happens over time to nearly all metal fixtures and it doesn't make sense to replace things on an island. That being said this place was exceptionally dirty. The tub has a significant amount of soap scum buildup, there is a lot of decor with layers of dust, the bathroom screen is very dusty and someone has drawn with their finger "clean me" on it, every cabinet in the kitchen needed a good scrub down particularly at the door pulls, and last the floors were dirty and the bed had popcorn and several grapes under it. The bathroom rug smelled of urine. The kitchen sink had a grease ring all around the inside of it. When I called maintenance about it, no answer. After contacting VRBO they finally got them in contact with me and made me call the cleaners to tell them what was wrong. The cleaning person insisted they had cleaned. I explained that was not possible in the sense that there was sand, grapes and popcorn under the bed. I expect sand to some degree based on the locale. They agreed to come the next day and reclean. After going to bed that night I did notice that the sheets on the bed were definitely not the quality noted in the listing and most likely some type of polyester blend. The towels in the unit were nice quality (2) and (2) beach towels. The unit was not re cleaned and I had to do a better clean. They may have cleaned the sink.

Great location. You can see the ocean from the balcony. Could have used a thorough cleaning, though.

The place was very old and dirty. There was rust and corrosion on the shower, fridge, and sinks. Inside the silverware drawer there was crumbs so we had to wash everything before and after use. The shower had a clog because when you would be in it for a few min the tub would fill up. There was only two bath towels so if you needed another you were out of luck. The A/C unit was very loud and water dripped from it. When we arrived there was a pack of medicine leftover from someone else next to the bed which tells me it wasn’t cleaned well. I felt like I needed to keep my shoes on inside.

The property was generally OK but the AC was like a jet engine! I see a similar review in January and they seemed to indicate the AC unit was going to be replaced. NOT SO!

Nice place, nice pool, beautiful oceanfront across the street (we even saw turtles in the water and a whale while watching the sunset one night!!). Easy drive to Kona and other area sites.

The beach really is directly across the road. You can see it from the lanai (or balcony). You can also hear the waves crashing at night. There is a nice, safe place to cross the road and there is also Banyans Mini Mart next door. The trolley is free to go up and down the main strip and there is a stop on both sides of the road close to the apartment. The apartment had everything we needed and directions from the host were very clear and informative. Definitely recommended by my husband and myself!

This was a great place to stay to enjoy the Kona area and explore the island. It was a short drive to lots of great food and beaches. We highly recommend visiting the art colony village of Holualoa (if you Google map to Glyph gallery, you’ll find it). The only small downsides were that the condo building’s hot tub had dirty foam in it, and seemed poorly maintained (although we didn’t report this and maybe it could be attended to).

This is a great spot. Close to the action but far enough away that it’s not too busy. Walked across the street every morning to enjoy our coffee and watch the waves and the surfers. Great communication with the host. Very comfortable space. Only negative is this is a first floor studio and if the person staying above you is heavy of foot, you’re going to hear it. This was a great spot and we really enjoyed our time here. Mahalo!!

We had a nice time staying in this place we were across the street from the beach and pool. We used the grill which was nice. Street to cross was a little busy but there was a cross walk nearby. Free parking. We were close to all that we wanted to do. Quieter area than some which was nice. Nice view from lanai We had just what we needed.

Bed/mattress was very hard and uncomfortable, difficult to get sleep due to it.
