Property has a gated entrance with private gate code, grounds security system, over 40 fruit trees and 2 Koi fish ponds. Studio sleeps up to 5 (one queen-size bed, one full-size futon sofa bed, and a single blow-up mattress), has 1 bathroom with shower and kitchen with refrigerator, convection oven, 2 stovetop burners, coffee maker, blender, and all necessary kitchen cooking/eating utensils. Rental also includes a dual washer/dryer unit, clothes drying rack, armoire for hanging clothes, outdoor BBQ, outdoor patio seating and eating table for 4, fiber optic high-speed internet, smart TV, yoga mat, umbrellas and other essentials. Outdoor storage shed has 4 beach chairs, 3 beach umbrella, coolers, boogie board, 4 adult snorkel sets/2 child snorkel sets, volleyball, and beach toys that can be used by guests of the rental. Studio has a private entrance, parking spot for 2 vehicles, and 180 degree views of the 3 acre property and Koi fish pond from the patio. Pond area has 4 chairs, bistro table for 2 with umbrella, and 2 lounge chairs with umbrella for guests to use. This guest house is conveniently located 15 minutes south of Hilo and 10 minutes between the small towns of Keaau and Pahoa. There is also a grocery store and farmer’s market within 5 minutes of the rental. This is the perfect central location for all activities on the east side of the Big Island of Hawaii, including sites such as Volcanoes National Patk, magnificent waterfalls, downtown Hilo, and the famous black sand and green sand beaches....

First and foremost, the grounds are stunning! Jennifer (host) put a lot of thought and intention in the landscaping and it shows. Wow. It was nice to just wander the property.
The hosts greeted us upon our arrival and checked in on us every day with lots of useful information.
The rental studio itself feels brand new. Everything in it was like new, from the towels to the dishes, even some of the furniture. It was also spotlessly clean. Even though we weren't the first people to stay here, it felt like it!
There were books, games, a ukelele, and other items to entertain us while we were at the rental. But best of all was just sitting outside and enjoying the view of the grounds.
The location is a little bit of a drive from both Hilo and VNP. But realistically, anywhere you stay on the Big Island, you're going to have to drive. Everything is far from everything else. So we don't count it as a minus unless you're doing multiple days at VNP or doing many activities in Hilo itself.
But for a visit to the south/east side of BI, this was a perfect location and perfect studio! Thank you Jennifer and Jeff.

This property and guest house was the perfect retreat for our trip while exploring the Hilo side of the island. Everything exceeded our expectations. The house was immaculate and spacious. Jeff and Jennifer were very kind and accommodating hosts. They made sure the guest house was fully stocked with kitchen supplies, sunscreen, beach chairs and coolers, and laundry detergent. We wish we could've stayed longer!

This property fully deserves its near-perfect reviews. Plenty of space for our family of four, utilizing the pull-out futon and air mattress. Our kids loved the koi pond, finding giant frogs and snails around the lawn, and waking up to a rooster crowing. No air conditioning, but ceiling fans and open windows kept the unit cool enough even in June. Idyllic location, relatively short drive to Volcanoes NP or anything else on Hilo side. Very well stocked including full cabinet of beach gear. Friendly and helpful hosts. We hope to visit again someday.

We chose to stay at Jennifer & Jeff’s property while on the Big Island, after coming from Oahu. It was the perfect, serene , quiet, vast location we needed. The home itself was the perfect size for our family (2 adults, 2 children). They had everything we needed to relax, do laundry, cook and explore. It was probably the best and most thought out VRBO I have stayed at. We loved it and would return in a heartbeat. Jennifer & Jeff were so kind and welcoming, but also left us to do our own thing. The kids LOVED staying here. We also felt like we were in an amazing location to get to all of our destinations on the east side of the island.
