Make sure to read the “Additional Info” fine print that’s sort of hidden. The resort charges extra fees that really add up. And this unit is a conjoined room with the unit next door so it feels like you have a roommate. You don’t share any space or see them, but our neighbors cooked a few times and the smell came into our room which was a little weird. The resort itself was very nice with great amenities, beautiful grounds and friendly staff. Just this room was not so great- a little dark, mouldy smell in bathroom, far walk from everything down a steep hill. If you’re only in Hanalei for a day or two and are on a budget, this place will be ok. But for a week I’d recommend to get a different spot.

At check in I got hit with $200 extra fees that was not listed on the site. They told me it’s an additional fee for the check in and parking for 3 nights. You should really tell people of the additional costs ahead of time.

The Hanalei Bay Resort was amazing. The views are breathtaking. Be ready to do a lot of walking up and down steep hills. There is no room service or reasonably priced food or drinks . Trying to find out what our room was supplied with was difficult, the room did have two beach chairs. No beach or snorkeling gear like a lot of rooms had. You can rent beach gear at their beach. The resort supplies beach towels. One of the restaurants and swim up bar are officially closed. Happy Talk is very overpriced. Go to the Princeville Center and Hanalei Center for better food and prices. The room didn’t have a microwave and should switch the regular coffee machine to a Keurig since there isn’t a kitchen. Room only has one small bathroom waste basket. Easy upgrades would be to paint the room and bathroom as it’s dark and outdated, add another side table by bed, switch the coffee maker, add another trash can, and update the description. We went into other rooms at the resort: one was infested with termites, and the others in the one building were brand new and beautiful. If you are staying more than 3 days, get a room with a kitchen. Room has plenty of towels which was nice. Pools and beach were never super busy, could always find a lounge chair. Family friendly resort.

Did not appear as pictured. Out dated., old. Light didn’t work and could barely get through the front jammed door.. Beautiful property and grounds.

Great location and access to a great beach, but it is a paved hike downhill. Great staff. They handle everything quickly. The room did have a refrigerator which wasn't shown on the listing. The only downside is the room has an interior door that is not soundproof to the attached neighbors. If they quarrel or watch TV you will hear it.

Unit 7204 was ideal for sunset and access to pools,tennis.. The shuttle service up hill to resort was prompt and so friendly. Happy Talk Cafe was awesome. The maid missed several things, but My mistake was not reporting them upon checkin. Mngt. Courteously Offered to come re-clean, but I didn’t want to be bothered. I’m sure they didn’t realize maid service wasn’t ideal. If you find something, let Mngt. Know right away. Otherwise, a comfy & beautiful unit. I would encourage owners to invest in some new fresh, softer pillows, as these were too hard. Aloha.
