This is our third year staying at this property. The traditional, elegant design and well appointed amenities truly make it a home away from home. The location is ideal for all north shore adventures. However, we find the real allure to be the tranquil, quiet and reflective escape this one of a kind space provides.
Communication with the owners was very easy. A thorough house “manual” is also provided for analog folks like myself.
Thank you for having us, and thank you Kauai- see you next year.

This was our second time staying at this house. We are already planning our 3rd trip there. The house is very clean, beds are comfortable, fluffy towels, and a well stocked kitchen. They also have everything you would need for the beach. But the best part is the outside views! We almost never wanted to leave the lanai. The views are dreamlike. From rainbows to waterfalls, and horses walking around the back area it’s spectacular. The outdoor shower and bath are a major perk! We can’t wait to go back.

It was comfortable, unique and beautiful scenic view of the mountain with waterfall. Perfect for 2 couples Two private bedrooms with private bathrooms. It was unique taking a warm shower outside or tub bath right on the deck. As an animal lover I enjoyed when the donkeys (I named them Junior and Momma) would stop by the fence for carrot snacks. Various little geckos jumping around the fence and random chickens strolling by. The walk to the beach was easy. The quickest one was turning R and walking down to the other side of the camp. The only bothersome thing was a neighbor that seemed to run his lawnmower 5 min., stop, then do it again. That happened several times, but otherwise a peaceful location.

Such a cute tranquil little spot. It’s what I envisioned when I thought of staying in a traditional Hawaiian home. Green mountains out the back door, farm animals roaming on the other side of the fence, lush gardens all around, cozy lanai. Walking distance to Tunnels was a perk. Loved it all!

From the moment we stepped in the door we felt a zen like peace. Stunning home and view. The photos and descriptions sounded almost too good to be true but if anything the home surpassed expectations. In addition to the overall engaging vibe the home had all the features of a luxury experience. Comfortable beds and furnishings, great bathrooms, well stocked kitchen, ceiling fans so effective we didn’t need the ac, quality bedding, towels, and equipment. We didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend.

We visit Kauai about every 4 months, but this was our first time staying at Charles and Lydia’s home. It was by far our favorite stay. Charles and Lydia were so very helpful and welcoming. The backyard is our new favorite spot on the island, we loved all of the horse, donkey, and cow visitors. The home makes you feel like you have the island all to yourself.

When you book a place to stay, you hope the reviews and the description give you a good idea of what to expect. I've booked places in the past that say they have something but when you arrive it is broken or they say they are "walking distance" to an attraction, but walking distance is over a mile. HOWEVER - - In this case, you get what they say - - the home is absolutely beautiful, perfectly clean, and very thoughtfully stocked. It is .25 mile walking distance to tunnels and they have all the beach gear (boogie boards, snorkel gear, surf boards) in very good condition with a beach wagon to walk to beach. The wagon was so nice to have! The kitchen was the most well stocked kitchen I've seen in any rental I've had. I really was impressed with how clean the home was - - spotless. The backyard backs up against a conservation land and we had cows, horses, etc come to visit daily. The outdoor tub - - I loved it! The hiking poles saved me on the kalalau trail. Thank you Charlie and Lydia for a perfect stay!

Beautiful home, dreamy location. I could have been happy spending all my time at the house. Furnished with warmth and love and decorated to honor Kauai and Hawaiian culture. The live edge wooden table, pebble shower floors, quality cotton linens, hammered copper sinks, iron palm tree screen door. Gorgeous! Comfortable beds, plenty of fans and ac, and blackout curtains made for a good night’s sleep. The kitchen was clean and well stocked. We enjoyed many family meals here. Wonderful location. The lanai is a destination all its own, with a yard of exotic plants and a view of majestic green mountains. Outdoor furnishings to relax and unwind, and plenty of quiet and privacy. Great location for nature and adventure as well. We were able to walk to tunnels beach and ha’ena beach park. The house comes with loads of beach gear and a beach wagon. We rode the complimentary bikes into the state park one day to snorkel, and shuttled in to hike another day. Things felt simpler here and we loved it. Thank you for a memorable stay!
