Ala Moana neighborhood is centrally located in the heart of Honolulu and boasts amazing shopping, dining, retail, parks, and entertainment options. Ala Moana is located right in between the Kakaako and Waikiki neighborhoods and features the best of both neighborhoods.
Beginning at the human-made, half-crescent beach known to locals as “Magic Island,” the sprawling Ala Moana Beach is a favorite Honolulu locale for afternoon picnics, sunset barbecues and celebrating special occasions with family and friends.
Amenities like public picnic sites, bathroom facilities, Hawaiian barbecue stands and shady monkeypod trees help make the beach an ideal place to gather for celebrations and weekend relaxation.
Drawing constant crowds of onlookers to the shoreline, the far end of Ala Moana Beach Park includes some of the most famous breaks on Oahu’s South Shore, namely Ala Moana Bowls and “Kewalos” (i.e., Kewalo Basin), which are coveted by locals and seasoned surfers for their high-performance waves.
While neighboring Waikiki is a popular spot for beginner surfers enjoying lessons at many of the celebrated surf schools in the area, Ala Moana’s more complex breaks are recommended for more experienced surfers.
Very central so you can walk to Waikiki Beach, Ala Moana Beach, Ala Moana Mall, bars, restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, convenience stores etc.

We always love staying at Ala Moana, the location is great.
This was the first time we rented from this agency and would not rent from them again. All communication were warnings about additional charges for this and that. Did not provide additional Toilet paper and was only told of this after we paid. We were given the wrong size of bed, was told it be a Queen but is a Double. There are no additional perks provide which has been provided by other agencies in the past (snorkeling/floaties for the beach). They even warned us that if we leave too much garbage behind we would be charged. All communications felt like warnings of additional charges instead of ensuring that our stay was pleasant and we had everything we needed. Our flight out was 10pm when I asked for a late check out or any other suggestions, the agency did not provide any support or recommendations, simply said that we had to check out at 11am because of tight scheduling for cleaning crew. We later found out that we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel where they lock them at no charge, only TIP. The fridge is very small and freezes everything. Great for water not great for yogurt. Felt like the owners are more interested in money then getting good referral or a rebook. We would return to Ala Moana, but not with this agency.

The tub drain needs to be cleaned as the water takes a long time to drain. we’re standing in sudsy water and need to rinse our feet after showering.
