This was a comfortable home for a couple to stay in. But there were some issues.
Control of lighting was confusing with several light switches not controlling lights that we could determine. This included the inside light switch at the front door which did not operate a light making for a dark entry into the house at night. The lighting at the mirror in the bathroom was inadequate for shaving and other functions for which one typically uses a bathroom mirror.
The bedroom was tight but adequate. The oversized wooden bed frame required conscious navigation around and we both were constantly banging our shins on the bed frame.
The closet has two bars for hanging clothes on, one above the other. The upper bar was too high to reach. The lower bar left clothes draped into beach gear stored in the closet.
The kitchen was well stocked except for a limited pan selection that only included one small sauce pan. The host promptly brought over a bigger sauce pan when we informed him of our needs.
The handmade draperies provided good privacy and were a charming addition.

This private bungalow is exactly what we were looking for. Had everything we needed. The hosts were super responsive, accommodating and everything was super easy.
We had an amazing relaxing time staying here, a great bungalow choice for taking your time, going with the flow and exploring. The location right near Haiku town is perfect for eats, drinks and all necessities. Easy short drives to nearby towns, Paia beaches and up to Haleakala or down to Road to Hana.
Thank you again Mike and Junko!

We stayed for three nights. Great home base from which to explore the Road to Hana and North Shore beaches. Clean, comfortable and close walk to groceries and restaurant/food trucks. Highly recommend.
