Hello Jennifer. My family and I stayed at Jungaloo for a nite. It was a really nice experience for all is. The house was lovely. It was cozy and decorated with unique furnishings which were really awesome. The outside was beautiful with all of the different plants and foliage. The sounds from crickets, frogs and birds chirping and plants swaying in breeze was nice.
There was however one big negative about our stay. The house really needed to be cleaned. Here are some of the issues you may want to address for future.
- Spider webs some with live spiders throughout house
-About one inch or more of dust under beds
- Floors were dirty. We all wore socks sine we did not want to wear outside footwear in house.
- Kitchen counters and dining table were sticky and needed a good wipe down
- bugs that had been squished on walls and just left there.
- Bathroon faucets and sinks needed to be cleaned
- Shower curtains were moldy
- Toilets needed to be cleaned inside and out
- Large dust balls around fireplace
- Accumulation of white dirt on ranch style windows above front door
Basically house just needs a good cleaning.
We would love to stay there again and possibly recommend family and friends to stay there but not under current circumstances of cleanliness.
I hope you will take my comments under consideration as it is a very lovely place to stay at.
Thank you.

This was the most precious little bungalow nestled in the jungle and so close to the park. The house had everything we needed and was accurately described. You will fall asleep to the sounds of the jungle and wake up to the most adorable chickens saying hello in the morning. My kids loved this place. Very comfortable and so close to all the things you need. Stop looking and just stay here. :) Highly recommend.

Located 6 mins from Volcano NP entrance (and 9 mins to a great hiking trail, the Iki Crater), the Jungalow is a super quiet home surrounded by rainforest (and some chickens and peeping coqui frogs, at night). It’s beautifully decorated and has 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 baths.
Bring your rain jackets (and a layer of warm clothes), visit Thai Thai for a yummy dinner, check out the Volcano Art Center, and grab homemade banana and pumpkin bread at the general store (next to Thai Thai) and you’re good to go!

The Jungalow was a great place to stay to explore Volcano National Park. It’s about 10 minutes to the entrance of the park and made it super easy to arrive midday and explore and then return first thing the next day and do some trails before the crowds in the morning. Her place was cute, clean and exactly as described - it fit our family of 5 very well. We’d definitely stay here again!

What an adorable house with everything you need. We wished we could stay longer than the one night we booked. We were easily at home and felt comfortable. Enjoyed everything about it, including the umbrellas which we needed! We would absolutely stay there again in the future!

We had a wonderful stay at The Jungalow! The property was perfectly located, close to the Volcano National Park and in a lovely neighborhood. The house itself was immaculate and very cozy. My entire family loved it.
We were sad to only stay one night, if we make it back we would absolutely stay there for longer. Highly recommend The Jungalow!!

The Jungalow was just as pictured - a beautiful house nestled in the rainforest near Volcano National Park. Proximity to the park was perfect and let us get a good start to our day. The kitchen, bathrooms, and linen closet were stocked with all the necessities. The fireplace, heated blankets, and space heaters kept us warm on the cold, spring nights. One tip for guests - there is very, very limited eating & grocery shopping in the area. Next time, I would stock up before I left Hilo.
