A private cozy and comfortable studio at the heart of Waikiki. Welcome morning with rejuvenating breeze throughout the unit with a wonderful view of the beautiful Ala Wai Canal. New kitchen cabinets and laminate granite counter top, new stylish Livingroom light and bathroom light, new foldable table with a conformable queen-size bed, solid ceramic tile flooring, and romantic wall painting.
Perfect LOCATION! Minutes’ walk to Waikiki Beach, Ala Moana Beach, Hawaii Convention Center, Ala Moana Center, lots of restaurants & entertainment, grocery stores, and major bus routes; Near Walmart, Sam’s Club, Ross, Don Quijote Market, Palama Supermarket, Times Supermarket, and Safeway Supermarket.
Legal, Convenient and Safe! The Hawaiian Monarch is legal for short term and vacation rentals and is ideal for guests with its fabulous amenities including a resort type pool, hot tub, barbeque grills, picnic area, fitness center, laundry, restaurants, and convenience store. The building is secure with 24-hour security guards, security cameras, and keyed elevators.

The Monarch Building does not provide parking stall for all the owners, so you could rent a parking stall at the rate of $45 per day in the Building’s parking garage. If you do not want to rent there, one good way is to take the bus #19/#20 from the Airport to the Building and then rent a vehicle from 808 Smart Car Rentals in the Building Lobby and avail their $20 flat rate parking fee per day (The cheapest renting fee from 808 Smart Car Rentals is $69/3 days).
Additionally, there are a lot of free street parking at night (6:00 pm-7:00 am) nearby and free canal parking along the Ala Wai Canal (except Mon & Fri from 8:30–11:30AM), sometimes it may be a little difficult to find a street parking or a canal parking if many tourism cars are looking for. Yet, almost each guest tells me she/he can find a free street parking or a free canal parking with some patience. Please move out your car after 7:00 am (except Sunday and State holidays) if you park in the street, otherwise your car could be towed.
The other option is to park for free around the Hilton Hawaiian lagoon-- between 6am and 10pm (six hours Max) with a pleasant half-mile walk. Also, you can park all day and night at the marina next door for $1 per hour.
Finally, I have a parking stall in my current condo home, which is 20 minutes’ walk away. If you are interested, you can use it freely.
Guest access
There is a gym located in Lower Lobby that can be used for a $5 fee for your entire stay.
There are an Activities Counter and Rental Car Counter on the main lobby.
There is a laundry room located in 4th Floor.
The Swimming Pool, the Hot Tub, and the Barbeque Grills are located in 5th Floor and free for you to use.

Stayed here for a conference visit. Location was super close and walkable to the conference convention center and easy to walk to Waikīkī, food spots and beaches too. Frank was super friendly and responsive during my stay. Would stay again!

If you're trying to do Honolulu on a dime, Frank's studio may be the perfect solution. Imagine a Hong Kong apartment with a queen size bed, fridge, microwave, and tea kettle, space-saving storage racks, a fold down table, and most of the necessary amenities you could want, located on the most convenient side of Waikiki.
Frank met us at the curb and helped us get comfortable as we moved in, showed us the pool and laundry riim, and helped us spot a parking spot across the street.
Hotel parking is astronimical, but with a pleasant half-mile walk you can park for free around the Hilton Hawaiian lagoon--six hours between 6am (I think) and 10pm. And you can park all day and night at the marina next door for $1 per hour. If your very lucky, you might find street parking across the street, but the meter cops will be waiting to ticket you at 6am! Although we never tried them, the food trucks on the corner are a nice boon.
