NEIGHBORHOOD DESCRIPTION:
This home is in the beginning of Waikiki, very city life. Walk up and down Waikiki Strip, along Kalakaua Avenue where you’ll find local vendors, street performers, amazing food and drinks, and of course Waikiki Beach!
Right down stairs is a 7 Eleven and coffee shop. If you walk a few minutes toward Kapiolani you will hit McCully Shopping Center where you can find a variety of Asian cuisines and more! About a mile away there is Ala Moana Mall, Ala Moana Beach Park & Fort DeRussy Beach. Diamond Head and Kapiolani park also relatively nearby.
We're located closest to the following: Hawaiian Monarch Hotel (next door), Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Alana - Waikiki Beach (across the street, Kalakaua Ave.), Waikiki Landmark (across the street, McCully St.) & Honolulu Convention Center (5 min. walk, along Ala Wai Blvd. then across Kalakaua Ave.)
GETTING AROUND:
We know that paying $$$ and finding parking is a hassle in Waikiki, so we include one spot of FREE PARKING (an average of $36/day value) for our guests! Having a rental car would be a great idea if you want to explore all around the island. Getting around in Waikiki is best on foot or on Bikis (street rental bicycles), The Bus & The Trolley, all within walking distance and are very convenient and reasonably priced.
If you need a 2nd parking spot, our location is very close to the Ala Was Canal, but it's FREE first come first serve parking city street parking along the canal overnight on Ala Wai Blvd. (please abide by parking signs for restrictions as we are not responsible for any parking violations). If you are looking for something more guaranteed, the cheapest parking in all of Waikiki that we have found happens to be at our sister location in the Kuhio Village Towers at $25/day (it is public parking only and we do not have parking in the structure or building, price changes happen without our knowledge an out discretion, as they are made within property management only), but it is a way away from our Royal Aloha Building, so we recommend parking there and having the vehicle parking in our building pick up those guests.
Also we would recommend DriveHui.com, search Waikiki Locations - scroll down and we are the closest to their 1833 Kalakaua Avenue location, if you need an addition vehicle only on certain days of your visit, they offer a car share service that is convenient as they have FREE parking at this lot as well as all across Waikiki, HNL Airport, Ala Moana, Kaka'ako & Manoa.
Their website also provides a great up to date list of parking lots all around Waikiki and prices for overnight/all day parking if you decide to rent a 2nd vehicle (we have no affliction to DriveHui.com or their pricing, but merely a recommendation to help everyone who visits us on Vrbo to help them plan ...
