The location is so close to the beach and the home itself is beautiful. It felt like home.

The main home and second cottage are recently updated. The accommodations were clean, orderly, and well-appointed. The bathrooms in the two master suites have nice walk-in showers! The shared bathroom in the hallway has a standard tub/shower. No one in our group slept in the loft, so we can’t comment on the sleeping accommodations up there. The beds in the downstairs rooms were comfortable.
The grounds were beautiful with lush Bermuda grass, tropical plants, and fruit trees. Don’t tell the owners, but we had fresh squeezed orange juice and grapefruits almost daily!
The location of the home is on the north side of the island, just across the street from Anini Beach. (The beach access is directly across from the driveway to this home). You can walk out the front door and be on the beach in less than a minute! Hanalei is a fifteen minute drive (there is a grocery store, shopping, and ample dining spots there).
The owners provided plenty of beach items for use such as chairs, umbrellas, snorkels, masks, fins, sand castle toys, etc. There was a gas grill and utensils for our outdoor cooking. They have covered parking, outdoor shower, foot fountain, and a hose with sprayer nozzle that came in handy.
The bonus cottage was a nice surprise! The newlywed couple in our travel group stayed in the cottage. It had everything you might need! Bed, living area, table, fridge, sink, full size bathroom with a surprisingly large shower!
There is no AC in the house or cottage, but we never felt the need for one. All of the sliding doors and the windows are screened, so the breeze kept temperatures comfortable.
I really have nothing bad to say about this place. The welcome mat at the front door could be a little tricky…if you stepped on it wrong it would slide and make you do the splits. Like anywhere on Kauai, they have roosters…and they let you know when it’s time to wake up! There was no outdoor furniture…I didn’t need any, but some people might want them.
We found this to be a great place to stay on our trip. Well worth the money. We would book again.

From the giddiness when we entered, to the family pictures we took in the backyard, to the orange juice we squeezed from the trees on the property for a birthday mocktail, to the Oceanside photo shoot at sunset, to the family of turtles and the random eel in ocean by the beach of our place, to the ease of access to the best little coffee van on the island... this place was chocked full of great memories!! My favorite? Waking up while it was still dark to read my Bible on the back porch during a slight rain that led to stars in the skies and eventually a sunlit sky.... what a beautiful place!! Why did I wake up at dark you ask? Ask the roosters...:)
